How to Cancel an Interac e-Transfer† Before It’s Deposited
Have you sent an Interac e-Transfer† for the wrong amount, or to the wrong recipient? No worries! You can cancel an Interac e-Transfer† through Scotia OnLine and the Scotia mobile app if the recipient has not yet deposited the funds. Once you cancel the Interac e-Transfer†, in most cases the funds will be returned instantly to your bank account.
If the recipient is registered for Interac e-Transfer† Autodeposit, the funds will be deposited automatically into their bank account, and the Interac e-Transfer† can’t be cancelled. Please reach out to the recipient to arrange for a refund.
Tip: an Interac e-Transfer† can take up to 30 minutes to deposit.
