Complete any two of these actions
Once your new chequing account is open, complete any two of the following within 45 days:
Set up and receive at least one eligible automated direct deposit (PDF) like a payroll or pension, totalling $500 or more a month. It must recur for at least two months in a row.
Set up and make at least two separate eligible pre-authorized transaction (PDF) for things like your mortgage, insurance, or rent. Each transaction must be at least $50 and recur for two months in a row.
Make at least one eligible online bill payment (PDF), like a phone or utility bill, of at least $50 with online or mobile banking.

Watch for an email around 1 month after completing step 2 with a unique promo code that will direct you to visit the dedicated offer webpage where you will be able to add one (1) eligible product to cart and redeem your promo code to receive that product at no additional cost. The Scotiabank Samsung Device Offer Terms and Conditions
The Scotiabank Samsung Device Offer (the “Offer”) is available between January 29, 2026 and April 30, 2026 (the “Offer Period”) only to select clients who have received a communication directly from Scotiabank about this Offer (“Eligible Clients”) and who open a new Preferred Package or Ultimate Package chequing account and complete certain qualifying transactions, subject to the conditions below.
To qualify for one Samsung device (the “Reward”), Eligible Clients must:
- Open a new Ultimate Package or new Preferred Package chequing account (the “Eligible Chequing Account”) during the Offer Period; and
- Complete any two (2) of the following activities in their Eligible Chequing Account within 45 days of Eligible Chequing Account opening:
a) Set up and receive at least one eligible† automated and recurring direct deposit, such as payroll or pension, which will recur monthly for a minimum of two (2) consecutive months with a minimum monthly amount of $500 total
b) Set up and make a minimum of two (2) separate eligible† recurring preauthorized transactions with a minimum value of at least $50 per transaction which will each recur monthly for a minimum of two (2) consecutive months in total, or
c) Make at least one (1) eligible† online bill payment of at least $50 through the Scotiabank Mobile App or through Scotia OnLine.
† Click here for a list of eligible direct deposits, preauthorized transactions and online bill payments. Notwithstanding a transaction may be included in these lists, certain exclusions may still apply, and Scotiabank reserves the right to modify these lists and to determine whether a specific direct deposit, pre-authorized transaction or bill payment is eligible for the Offer. Fund transfers initiated to other Scotiabank accounts (one time or recurring, e.g. credit card or savings account), to chequing or savings accounts held at other financial institutions, or to payment processing firms, are not eligible for the Offer. Offer Eligibility and Exclusions
Individuals who are currently holders of, or who were previously holders within the last two (2) years, of a Scotiabank Chequing Account are not eligible for this Offer. “Scotiabank Chequing Account” means any of the following accounts: Ultimate Package, Preferred Package, Scotia One Account, Basic Plus Bank Account, Basic Banking Plan, Basic Bank Account, Momentum Chequing, Power Chequing, Scotia One Service, Scotia Value, and Student Banking Advantage Plan. Offer Fulfillment
Eligible clients who meet all qualifying conditions will receive an email from Scotiabank approximately a month from when eligibility is met containing a unique promo code (the “Unique Code”) needed to redeem their Reward from Samsung directly.
To redeem their Reward clients must by no later than October 31, 2026:

a. Enter the Unique Code they received in their email from Scotiabank. You must agree to the Redemption Site Terms and Conditions, which may be amended from time to time by Samsung when placing your order.

Once a client’s Reward order is placed, it cannot be changed, returned or exchanged. Samsung will manage shipping and fulfillment of all Reward orders following their standard process. Any unclaimed Reward or Reward forfeiture will not be rewarded and has no cash value.
General Terms
The Offer is non-transferable and may not be duplicated. Limit of one (1) Reward per Eligible Client regardless of the number of Eligible Chequing Accounts opened. If more than one (1) Eligible Chequing Account is opened, only the first Eligible Chequing Account opened will be eligible for the Reward. For joint accounts, only one (1) Reward will be provided to the primary account holder of the Eligible Chequing Account.
The Reward is supplied by a third-party manufacturer, Samsung Electronics. The Bank of Nova Scotia (i) does not provide any warranty, representation, or guarantee regarding the Reward, its quality, performance, or fitness for any particular or general purpose, and (ii) will not be liable for injury, loss, or damage of any kind resulting from the acceptance, use or misuse of the Reward. Any warranty applicable to the Reward is solely provided by the manufacturer. Eligibility & Exclusions:
- Eligible commissionable trades include stocks, ETFs, options placed across all Preferred Package account holder(s)’ Scotia iTRADE accounts within the calendar year since the later of January 1, 2023 and the time when a client opens a Scotia iTRADE account.
- Corporate and non-personal Scotia iTRADE accounts are not eligible.
- Joint Preferred Package account holders are collectively entitled to the rebates for the total of the first 10 or 20 (as applicable) eligible trades fulfilled within their Scotia iTRADE accounts as between joint Preferred Package account holders regardless of whether or not such Scotia ITRADE accounts are sole or joint with other people.
- Both the Preferred Package bank account and Scotia iTRADE accounts must be in good standing on the last day of every month.
- The Scotia iTRADE account must not be in a disallowed debit position and must not have any outstanding margin calls due.
- No cash redemption value.
