Program membership
|
The Scotia Rewards Program is automatically available on certain Scotiabank Cards.
|
- If you do not have a SCENE membership number as of Scene+ lauch, you will be automatically enrolled into the Scene+ Program.
- If you have a SCENE account at Scene+ launch, that account will convert into a Scene+ account and you will maintain the same membership number provided that the information (e.g. full name and contact information including email address) on your Scotiabank Card matches that on your existing SCENE account.

The Scotiabank Privacy Agreement applies to Scotiabank’s collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in the policy.
|
If you have a Scotiabank Card, the Scotiabank Privacy Agreement will continue to apply in connection with your Scotiabank credit or debit card. In addition, Scene LP’s collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as described in Scene LP’s Privacy Policy will also apply. There are important changes to how your personal information will be collected, used or shared in order to receive the benefits of the Scene+ Program.
Starting December 13, 2021, Scotiabank will share the following information with Scene LP to create or connect to your Scene+ account: name, contact information, date of birth, gender and your Points balance.
Scotiabank will share the following transaction information on an on-going basis with Scene LP: purchase date and amount, and merchant name and location. Scotiabank may collect from, or share with, Scene LP, Owners, or Reward Partners such other data as may reasonably be needed to operate or offer the Scene+ Program including any Benefits thereunder. Scene LP may use your information (alone or together with other information it may have) for purposes described in Scene LP’s Privacy Policy , including:
- Operating the Scene+ Program;
- Conducting analytics and reporting; and
- Sending offers that may be of interest to you.
Subject to your privacy choices, Scene LP may also share certain information (including contact information, gender, date of birth and redemption history) with Owners or select Rewards Partners for use in accordance with Scene LP’s Privacy Policy , including to provide you with rewarding and personalized experiences and offers.

Ways to earn points
|
You can earn Scotia Rewards points when you use your Scotiabank Card for certain activities or purchases charged to the Scotiabank Card.
|
You will be able to earn Scene+ Points when you:
- Use your Scotiabank Card, or
- Use your Scene+ membership Card for movies and entertainment at participating locations owned or operated by Cineplex in Canada, including theatres and The Rec Room®, and at Scene+ participating restaurant locations, or
- Make certain purchases through the Scene+ Travel partner, other Reward Partners, other authorized channels, or offers as described in the Scene+ Program Terms and Conditions.

Changes to bank accounts eligible for earning points
|
Scotiabank Basic Bank Account, Basic Plus Bank Account, Power Chequing, Scotia One Service, Scotia Value, Gain Plan Investment Savings, Scotia Chequing Account, Scotia Club, Scotia Plus, Blue Chip Savings, Daily Interest Savings Account, Preferred Package, Ultimate Package, Student Banking Advantage® Plan, and Getting There Savings Program for Youth earn Scotia Rewards points on the associated Scotiabank debit card.

Preferred Package, Ultimate Package, Private Banking, Student Banking Advantage® Plan, and Getting There Savings Program for Youth earn Scene+ points on the associated Scotiabank debit card.
Important Note: Scotiabank Basic Bank Account, Basic Plus Bank Account, Power Chequing, Scotia One Service, Scotia Value, Gain Plan Investment Savings, Scotia Chequing Account, Scotia Club, Scotia Plus, Blue Chip Savings, and Daily Interest Savings Account will no longer earn any loyalty or reward points on the associated Scotiabank debit card.

Availability of points balance
|
All Scotia Rewards points balances are tied to a specific Scotiabank Card. In case of multiple cards, cardmembers can combine points by taking proactive steps to transfer points from one Scotiabank Card to another.
|
All Scene+ Points, including those earned on multiple Scotiabank Cards, will be automatically combined and available in one place in the Scene+ Account (unless otherwise stated in the Scene+ Program Terms and Conditions).
|
Points earned on supplementary credit cards
|
Purchases made by a supplementary cardmember earn points for the benefit of the primary Scotiabank cardmember on the Scotiabank Card that is a credit card account, and any co-borrower on that account.
|
Purchases made on a Scotiabank Card that is issued to a Supplementary Cardmember will earn Scene+ Points only for the benefit of the Primary Scotiabank Cardmember and will be applied to the Primary Scotiabank Cardmember’s Scene+ Account.

Points Redemption

Redemptions of Scotia Rewards points can be made for:
- Travel with ‘Scotia Rewards Travel Service’ and ‘Apply Points to Travel’ option,
- Apple and Best Buy merchandise in addition to other brand-name merchandise,
- Physical gift cards and prepaid cards, and
- A credit to your Scotiabank Card Account with the ‘Points for Credit’ option

Redemptions of Scene+ Points can be made for:
- Movie tickets, concessions and dining at locations currently operated by Cineplex including but not limited to theatres, The Rec Room® and Playdium®,
- Dining at participating restaurant locations,
- Travel with ‘Scene+ Travel’ and ‘Apply Points to Travel’ options,
- Apple and Best Buy merchandise, • Physical or electronic gift cards and prepaid cards,
- A credit to your Scotiabank Card Account with the ‘Points for Credit’ option,
- In addition, Points may be redeemed through Rewards Partners and via. special offers and promotions.

Topping up points
|
Payment can only be made using a Scotiabank Card when using the ‘points plus charge’ or ‘charge only’ option as applicable on travel and merchandise redemptions. The Scotiabank Card that is a debit card cannot be used for travel bookings using either of these options.

Payment can be made using any payment product (including debit cards) when using the ‘points plus charge’ or ‘charge only’ option as applicable on travel and merchandise redemptions.

Redemptions through Program call centre
|
Scotia Rewards redemptions for gift cards, Points for Credit, Apply Points for Travel can be made through the Scotia Rewards call centre.
|
Scene+ Points redemption for gift cards, Points for Credit and Apply Points for Travel will be temporarily unavailable through the Scene+ Call Centre. You can, however, redeem for gift cards, Points for Credit, and Apply Points for Travel through the Scene+ website.
You are encouraged to regularly check the Scene+ website for the latest updates on redeeming for gift cards, Points for Credit and Apply Points for Travel.

Scene+ Points will only be issued (or otherwise awarded or earned) if you present or make available your Scene+ Account number or Membership Card before the completion of a purchase, redemption, or any other transaction eligible for Scene+ Points or other rewards.

Points adjustment on Points for Credit and Apple and Best Buy catalogues redemptions

For Points for Credit redemptions over $100 denomination, and for merchandise from the Apple and Best Buy catalogues, residents of Quebec can call the Scene+ call centre for a points adjustment prior to making Points for Credit or Apple and Best Buy redemption on the Scene+ website.

Scotia Rewards card members can book air, hotel, vacation packages and cruises through the Scotia Rewards Travel Service website or by calling 1-800-665-2582 and following prompts for ‘travel’.

Scotiabank Cardmembers will have access to travel, hotel and car rental bookings through the Scene+ Travel website

Changes to the Best Price Guarantee on airfare
|
Scotia Rewards card members enjoy a 24-hour “Best Price Guarantee” on airfare when booking travel through Scotia Rewards Travel Service. Access to multiple fares on flight bookings is not available.

“Best Price Guarantee” will not be available. However, Scotiabank Cardmembers will have access to a wide selection of flights including multiple fare options to choose from.

Additional points earned on travel

Scotiabank Cardmembers will earn 3 Points per $1 (pre-taxes and fees) on the full monetary total of a hotel and car rental booking.

Booking and administration fees on Scotiabank Platinum American Express credit card

Booking fees and administration fees for any changes to a travel booking do not apply to Scotiabank® Platinum American Express® card members using the Concierge Service.

Payment of administrative fees

Administration fees for new travel bookings and changes to an existing travel booking apply and can be paid with either points or the Scotiabank Card.

Minimum points requirement

5,000 minimum point redemption is required each time a travel redemption is made through the Scotia Rewards Travel Service. |

|
Points can be converted to SCENE points at 1,000 Scotia Rewards points to 750 SCENE Points, and vice versa at 1,000 SCENE Points to 950 Scotia Rewards points.

Conversion to SCENE will no longer be applicable as all points issued are Scene+ Points.

Account closure
|
Involuntary account closure
|
If the Scotiabank Card Account is closed by Scotiabank because it is not in Good Standing**, the points associated with that account cannot be redeemed and will be immediately cancelled.
|
- Your Scene+ account may be closed by Scene LP if during any 24-consecutive month period your Scene+ Membership Card is not used to earn or redeem Scene+ Points, or not used for any other reward transaction activity. In this case, Scene LP will provide you with at least 30, but not more than 60, days’ prior written notice, as required by applicable law, before your Scene+ Points are forfeited.
- However, if you have an open Scotiabank Card Account that earns Scene+ Points and that is in Good Standing**, your Scene+ account will remain open.
- If the Scotiabank Card Account that is a credit card account is closed by Scotiabank because it is not in Good Standing, only the Scene+ Points earned on the credit card will be forfeited immediately.

If you close your Account
|
If you close your Scotiabank Card Account, any unredeemed points can be redeemed within 60 days of account closure, provided that the Scotiabank Card Account is in Good Standing, after which time the unredeemed points will be permanently cancelled. |
If you close your Scotiabank Card Account associated with the Program and if such account is in Good Standing with Scotiabank, your Scene+ Points will still be available in your Scene+ Account provided that your Scene+ account is open. |
