Digital Identity Verification Terms

Terms and Conditions

As part of the Scotiabank Account opening process, Scotiabank may ask you to provide personal information, such as your name, street address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you via Scotiabank's Digital Identity Verification Service (the “Service”). We may also request a copy of your driver’s license or other identifying documents ("ID"). We use this information to confirm your identity during Scotiabank Account opening, and for other purposes as described in the Scotiabank Privacy Agreement.

When you submit a copy of your ID with a photo, we will also ask you to take a selfie (“Submitted Images”). When you do this, you authorize and instruct Scotiabank, including any of its service providers, to use the Submitted Images for the purpose of confirming your identity, including by comparing your selfie to any photo on your ID that you provide to us.  Scotiabank and any of its service providers will not be storing a copy of any Submitted Images including your ID and the selfie. Once the processing of the ID and selfie is completed, any copy of your ID and your selfie will be securely disposed of by Scotiabank and its service providers.
