Additional details about upgrading your credit card

General
Credit check: Scotiabank will not perform any credit check as part of this card upgrade.
About this upgrade: This upgrade to a new card can t be reversed. If you have supplementary cards, they will also be upgraded.
Activating your current card: Your current credit card will work as usual until you activate your upgraded card, up to a maximum of 90 days from when your upgrade was first processed. Any outstanding balance you have on your current card will be transferred to your upgraded card. If you increased your credit limit, the new limit will apply to your upgraded card; if not, your current limit will be transferred over. After you receive your upgraded credit card in the mail and activate it, you must destroy your current credit card. If you have supplementary cards, you will receive upgraded versions of them in the mail as well. Once you activate any upgraded supplementary cards, you must also destroy the current ones
Annual fee
You agree to pay any applicable annual fee(s) for your Credit Card Account regardless of card activation. Refer to the Application Disclosure Statement for
more information on rates and fees. All rates and fees are subject to change.
Embedded insurance
Coverage: Any insurance coverage automatically included with your existing credit card will end once you upgrade your card. Your upgraded card provides
separate insurance coverage, which will come into effect after you upgrade.
Claims: If you have any remaining insurance claims to submit for your current card, you must do so before upgrading your card. If you have any active
insurance claims that were submitted before upgrading your credit card, they will remain active until they are resolved.
Creditor insurance
Transfer of coverage: If you are currently enrolled in Scotia Credit Card Protection (SCCP), your coverage will be automatically transferred to your upgraded card.
Switching card issuers: Creditor insurance cannot be transferred between Mastercard Credit Cards and Visa/American Express credit cards. A new creditor insurance application is required when switching to a new VISA/American Express credit card. Creditor insurance coverage is currently not available when switching to a Mastercard credit card.
PIN and payment settings
Card number and PIN: Your upgraded credit card will have a new credit card number. However, it will use the same PIN as your current credit card.
Pre authorized payments: If you have set up any pre authorized payments on your current credit card, you must update them with your new credit card
number and expiry date once you receive your upgraded credit card. You must also do this with any card information you have saved with online merchants.
AutoPay: Any AutoPay settings you have already put in place will transfer to the upgraded credit card.
Digital wallets: If you added your current credit card to your digital wallet, you must delete it from your wallet then manually add your upgraded credit card.
Your current credit card will work as usual in your digital wallet until you activate your upgraded card, up to a maximum of 90 days from when your upgrade
was first processed.
Promotional interest rates
Any promotional interest rates on your current credit card will not be transferred or applied to your upgraded credit card. Instead, regular rates will apply
Credit card benefits and rewards
Benefits: You ll be able to start earning the rewards that come with your upgraded card right away. However, some card benefits will not come into effect until
you receive your upgraded card and activate it.
Scene+: Any Scene+ points you have earned on your current card will not change as a result of this upgrade, and the Scene+ Program terms and conditions
will continue to apply.
Cash back: Any current cash back balance will be automatically transferred to your upgraded credit card.
