2022 Scotiabank Giller Prize
We’re proud to celebrate the very best in Canadian fiction through our sponsorship of the Scotiabank Giller Prize.
Community Impact
In celebration of this year’s Prize, we are expanding our partnership with Little Free Library, the world’s largest book-sharing movement, to place thousands of copies of The Scotiabank Giller Prize shortlisted novels in Little Free Libraries across Canada as well as in select Scotiabank branches.
Branches include: Yonge & Eglington (Toronto), Yonge & St. Clair (Toronto), Bloor & Spadina (Toronto), Kerrisdale (Vancouver), Yaletown (Vancouver), Kingston Financial Centre (Kingston), Rideau & Williams (Ottawa) and Mission (Calgary).
Following the winner announcement, each branch library will be rehomed to an area identified to have less access to literature so we can continue to provide access to literature at a grassroots level.
Canadians can also find “book bundles” containing the 5 shortlisted novels in hundreds of Little Free Libraries across the country. The collaboration is an important component of Scotiabank’s support for Canadian literary arts and will give more Canadians access to the Prize’s shortlisted novels, and promote the work of some of Canada’s most talented and diverse authors.
Be sure to keep an eye out in your community for a Little Free Library stocked with this years’ 5 shortlisted novels!
