Laurie Stang

Laurie Stang was appointed Executive Vice President, Canadian Branch Banking, in May 2017. In this role, Laurie is responsible for defining and implementing the strategic direction, goals and execution of key initiatives for Retail Banking in Canada in line with corporate strategies. He oversees all of Canadian Branch Banking and Small Business Banking.

Immediately prior to this position, Laurie was Senior Vice President, where he was responsible for providing leadership and guidance on our customer-focused strategy for the Prairie Region retail bank.

Since joining Scotiabank in 1985, Laurie has held progressively more senior customer facing roles in the Bank including Senior Vice President, Ontario Region, Wealth Management, Commercial, Operations and Executive Office.

He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Saskatchewan, has completed the Ivey Executive Program, is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers and a Professional Designate of the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Laurie and his wife Colleen have three children.
