• Mexico: The trade balance posted a favourable performance, growing at a double-digit pace in June

In June 2026, Mexico’s foreign trade maintained a favourable performance, with exports totaling USD 72.551 billion and imports reaching USD 68.461 billion (chart 1), resulting in a trade surplus of USD 4.089 billion. Exports surged by 34.4% year over year, led by non-automotive manufacturing exports (48.8%) and oil exports (43.4%), while automotive exports expanded at a more moderate pace (7.6%). Meanwhile, agricultural exports declined by 2.8%. Imports also showed strong momentum, though to a lesser extent, increasing by 28.0% year over year. Intermediate goods led the advance, rising by 30.9%, followed by consumer goods (23.5%), while capital goods posted a more modest increase of 8.8%. On a cumulative basis, during the first half of the year, exports grew by 24.6% annually, while imports advanced by 22.0%, resulting in a trade surplus of USD 9.857 billion.
