In this new blog series we will bring you unique stories of Customer Care employees who have navigated different paths to get them to their current role. While each path is different, they all share a common customer focus that has guided them along the way.
Today we meet Marion, a Manager of Customer Care & Solutions, working out of our Scotiabank Call Centre. Join us as we learn more about her road to becoming a Manager and how Scotiabank has supported her development.
Delivering excellent customer experience one client at a time…
“I have now worked for Scotia for nearly 15 years and love the people I work with and how Scotia puts their customers first – we genuinely care about our customers. I manage a team of high performing Customer Call Centre Advisors who provide a white glove experience to inbound customers looking to cancel their credit cards or bank accounts. They are responsible for giving an excellent customer experience while providing sound advice & solutions in order to retain their business and keep them banking with Scotiabank.”
Achieving her goal of becoming a Manager …
“My biggest challenge has been getting out of my comfort zone. I have extreme social anxiety so getting myself out there, having a voice, and making a name for myself was quite hard mentally. I have worked extremely hard on my personal & professional development. Being able to achieve my goal of becoming a manager to share all of my passion and expertise with my advisors and seeing them grow has made me extremely proud. They care so much about each other, and their customers and they make me smile everyday!”
Her advice for future Scotiabank Customer Care employees…
“I have had such amazing leaders that have pushed and supported me in every endeavour. Scotiabank is such a great place to make lifelong connections and really make a positive impact on customers. Make sure to network, job shadow, and take advantage of all the learning opportunities available here, so you can grow and get the most out of your career – and make great friends along the way!”
