Chief Accountants
We develop accounting policies, deliver application guidance, and provide advisory services in line with international accounting and reporting standards to businesses and finance groups globally across the Bank. In addition, we oversee consolidated internal financial performance reporting to executive and external financial reporting to both regulators and shareholders. We also serve as a key control function to ensure accurate financial reporting and safeguarding of the Bank’s assets.
Financial Planning and Analysis
We are a trusted and reliable advisor to our partners, who span across all business segments and corporate functions. We are committed to providing actionable financial planning and analysis, reporting, and recommendations to help the Bank achieve its financial targets and invest in the right projects.
Global Procurement Services
We link external supplier capabilities with internal business needs and requirements through the development and execution of sourcing and supplier strategies. We ensure internal stakeholders have access to reliable and relevant supplier, sourcing, and procurement information and provide a centre of best practices for managing supplier relationships and monitor supplier performance.
Capital Management
We direct and oversee Scotiabank’s capital policy and capital management programs with the goal of ensuring the bank’s capital levels are adequate to meet current and future risks. We support the financial safety of the Bank’s customers, foster investor confidence, and support overall bank profitability.
Taxation
We are a full-suite global tax function comprised of professionals with accounting, legal, and economics backgrounds. Our work spans the tax life cycle of planning, reporting, compliance, and audit defence in a dynamic and complex legislative environment.
Canadian Banking
We provide financial direction and analysis to the Canadian Banking business lines and ensure the integrity of financial reporting through implementation of adequate controls, performance measurement, and monitoring. This includes annual profit planning and capital expenditure forecasts, monthly and quarterly reporting, forecasting and project tracking.
Global Banking and Markets (GBM)
We provide financial reporting and analysis that allows GBM’s business lines to understand drivers of financial performance and forecast financial trends. We have teams in Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia and we work closely with International Banking in relation to GBM’s LatAm business.
International Banking
We are responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of the financial information while providing value added support to our business partners and continuously improving our processes.
Global Wealth Management (GWM)
We provide financial management and analytical support to GWM executive management on individual Business Unit performance including Global Asset Management and Global Wealth Management. We are also responsible for the integrated management reporting, profit planning and forecasting activities of the businesses. We drive and support all strategic, regulatory, and business initiatives to optimize the financial position of GWM.

We are committed to providing actionable financial planning and analysis, reporting, and recommendations to help the Bank achieve its financial targets and invest in the right projects.
