$50 One-Time Offer for Obtaining a Scotiabank® Bank Account

Offer Terms and Conditions

1. DEFINITIONS

"Customer" is defined in Section A.

"Offer Period" is defined in Section A.

"Eligible Bank Account" means any one of the Scotia® MoneybackTM Account, Scotia OneTM Account, Basic Banking Plan, or Student Banking Advantage® Plan.

"Scotiabank" means The Bank of Nova Scotia.

2. DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER

This Offer by Scotiabank begins on June 17, 2013 at 12:00:01 a.m. ET and ends on September 27, 2013 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET (the "Offer Period").

A $50 cash award will be given to an individual who opens an Eligible Bank Account within the Offer Period and who otherwise meets the requirements under these Offer Terms and Conditions (a "Customer"). Limit of one (1) $50 cash award per Customer and per joint Eligible Bank Account.

3. ELIGIBILITY

The Offer is available to any Customer who is a resident of Atlantic Canada (New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia, or Prince Edward Island), is not an employee of Scotiabank, and, prior to the Offer Period, was not (i) the holder or joint holder of an Eligible Bank Account, Scotia Value® Account, Basic Banking Account, Powerchequing Account, ScotiaChequing or ScotiaClub or (ii) enrolled in the Scotia Plus® or Getting There Account for Youth. The Eligible Bank Account must be in good standing for 60 days after the date of opening (the "Eligibility Period"). An Eligible Bank Account is not in "good standing" if (i) it has a negative balance exceeding the authorized overdraft limit, (ii) it is closed to service charges or (iii) it has an unauthorized overdraft written off status.

4. FULFILLMENT

The $50 cash award will be deposited into the Customer's Eligible Bank Account immediately following the Eligibility Period. This offer is non-transferable and cannot be duplicated or combined with any other offer.

5. GENERAL

By participating in this Offer, Customers agree to these Offer Terms and Conditions. This Offer is subject to all applicable laws. The decisions of Scotiabank with respect to all aspects of the Offer are final and binding on all Customers.

Scotiabank reserves the right to withdraw or amend this Offer at any time without notice and for any reason, including error, tampering, unauthorized intervention or fraud.
