Canada Post Service Disruption

Information on Canada Post service disruption

As you may know, there is currently a postal disruption at Canada Post.

This disruption will impact the delivery of items you receive from Scotiabank through Canada Post, including account and loan statements and new or replacement credit cards, debit cards, and access cards for your line of credit. Further details can be found below.

Statement Delivery Delays:

If you currently receive statements for your account(s) with us in the mail (via paper), your monthly statements will not be distributed by mail until the postal disruption is over.

You are still required to continue to review your transactions and make your required payments (if any) even during this postal disruption to keep your account in good standing (ensuring that we receive your minimum payment by the payment due date each month).

We recommend you consider switching to eStatements (paperless delivery), if that is available for your account/statements, through the mobile app or online banking. Learn more about eStatements here.

Alternatively, you can also call 1-877-552-5522 or visit any Scotiabank branch for additional information on your statement or to pay your bill. You may also want to consider setting up pre-authorized payments via online banking or the mobile app to ensure payments are made on time going forward.

If you are new to digital banking, please visit Scotiabank.com/signup or download the mobile app to get started. Learn how to download the Scotia Mobile app and log in for the first time on our digital banking guide at Scotiabank.com/BankYourWay

Card Delivery Delays:

If you have recently applied for a credit card, a line of credit account or a bank account, or you are expecting a card replacement (lost, stolen, or expired), Scotiabank is making arrangements to deliver via alternate couriers; however, you may experience delays.

If you require immediate assistance with a debit card, please contact your closest branch.

Term Loan Renewal Letter:

If you have a term loan coming up for renewal, you may experience delays receiving your Term Loan Renewal Letter.

If you would like to discuss your term loan renewal options, you can book an appointment with an advisor or call 1-877-552-5522.
