Cybersecurity is about more than bits and bytes

Defending against cyberattacks, according to security expert and former Deputy Director of the United States National Security Agency Chris Inglis, is really about culture and peoples’ ability to think critically. Scotiabank was fortunate to host a recent session with Inglis in Toronto, and to share a few of his thoughts.

Scotiabank employs teams of cybersecurity specialists across its global operations and partners with a variety of external organizations to prevent and investigate any electronic attempts to gain access to the Bank’s data. At the same time, employees are continuously educated and expected to look for warning signs and efforts to infiltrate that data as well. After all, experts like Chris Inglis agree that the nefarious activity will continue to rise for the foreseeable future.
