A pandemic of this magnitude, impacting so many people, had never been seen before. The world watched as store fronts were boarded up, supermarket shelves ran empty of essential items, people were laid off, and charitable organizations faced unprecedented demand.

An organic breakfast and snack food company, Nature’s Path understood that they were in a unique position to help their communities. Hunger was something that needed to be addressed immediately. It was not something to put on next month’s meeting agenda. So, at the start of the pandemic, Nature’s Path pledged to donate $2.5 million in organic food to help those most in need: Food banks, children dependent on school programs for food, care homes, and healthcare workers working long hours.

"

We are a family business and people helped and supported us along the way and we have not forgotten.”

– Arjan Stephens, General Manager of Nature’s Path

Since 2009, Nature’s Path has held annual Eat Well Do Good events and “foodraisers,” inviting the local communities to put their compassion into action with their generous donations of clean food and funds for those in need. Since its inception, Eat Well Do Good has donated more than $2 million worth of food to local food banks and elementary schools.

"

Access to food is the most basic and urgent priority, especially for children. We know our products don’t just feed, they nourish.”

– Jyoti Stephens, VP of Mission and Strategy

This year, the company decided to significantly expand its annual Eat Well Do Good food donation campaign to address childhood hunger and food insecurity. They doubled their commitment and donated one million bowls worth – or 250,000 boxes – of their nutritious, and organic breakfast cereals, granolas and snacks to 10 organizations in the U.S. and Canada, including: Second Harvest Canada, Daily Bread Food Bank, Greater Vancouver Food Bank, Richmond Food Bank Society.

Additionally, Nature’s Path matched every dollar donated to any of its partner organizations with five dollars worth of healthy, organic food.

In recognition of the great contributions of Nature’s Path, and to mark the launch of Interac e-Transfer for Business, Scotiabank has made a $5,000 donation in Nature’s Path’s name to The Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
