About Payments
An online bill payment is a payment that you make using an Internet connection. The advantage of making an online bill payment instead of writing a paper check is that, for many situations, paying online is faster and easier.
The payee is the company to which you make the payment. To be able to make an online payment, you must the bill payment company and your account number.
Be sure to allow adequate time for your payee to receive your bill payment. If your payment is late, or you have problems with your payee that you cannot resolve, call Customer Service. Processing time may take up to 4 business days.

Payees
Before you can make an online payment, you need to set up a bill payment company.
We provide a list of standard payees with whom we partner. You can select the payee and enter only your account number and a payee nickname.

How Bill Payments are Displayed
After you submit an online bill payment, it is displayed in different places. This is an example of the processing steps:

  1. You enter a new payment with a payment date in the future. The payment is displayed on the Bill Payments page.


  2. On the payment date, the payment is released for processing. The payment is displayed on the Bill Payments page.


  3. The payment is cleared by your financial institution. The amount of the payment is deducted from your account and the transaction is displayed on the Activity page.
