Scotiabank stands with Ukraine

Scotiabank commits more than one million dollars to relief for Ukraine

The ongoing crisis in Europe reminds us of our shared humanity and Scotiabank’s driving purpose: for every future. We remain united in solidarity with Ukraine and the Canadian Ukrainian community at their time of great need.

Scotiabank’s commitment includes:

  • $200,000 to the Canadian Red Cross’ Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal;
  • $200,000 donation in support of UNICEF Canada’s Hope, Help and Healing Appeal, alongside MD Financial Management and the Canadian Medical Association;
  • $270,000 to TalentLift to assist displaced Ukrainians. Scotiabank is also providing affected, eligible individuals and companies with 1-year of no-fee banking, a pre-approved credit card with no Canadian credit history, access to free safety deposit boxes, and advice from our financial advisors.

To date, Scotiabank employees have given over $70,000 by directing their employee recognition points to organizations aiding those affected by the crisis.

Our efforts will continue as we review additional opportunities to provide support to humanitarian and resettlement efforts for the people of Ukraine.
