Gillian Riley

President & CEO,
Tangerine Bank

Gillian Riley is President & CEO, Tangerine. She was appointed to this role in December 18, 2018, with responsibility for setting and driving Tangerine’s strategic objectives to solidify its position as Canada’s leading digital bank. She is also the Chair of Roynat Capital and the Executive Sponsor of The Scotiabank Women Initiative.

Since joining Scotiabank in 1994, Gillian has held senior leadership positions in Retail, Small Business, Commercial Banking and Operations groups. In her previous position as Executive Vice President, Canadian Commercial Banking, Gillian directed the management of several integrated businesses providing corporate finance solutions to businesses across Canada.

Gillian holds an MBA from the Barney School of Business at the University of Hartford in Connecticut and a BA in Economics from the University of Western Ontario. She is the Past President of the Canadian Club of Toronto and a Director of the St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation. 

Jason Barr

Vice President & Head, Canadian Distribution, Roynat Capital (a Scotiabank company)

Jason Barr is the Vice President & Head for Roynat Capital’s Canadian client relationship group, a diverse team of lending and investment professionals located in 21 offices across the country who are dedicated to helping mid-sized Canadian businesses with their long term financing requirements.

Jason joined Scotiabank in 1988, holding progressively more senior roles in retail and commercial banking. Following a brief stint with another financial institution, Jason re-joined Scotiabank Group with Roynat in 2004 where he has held a variety of positions, most recently as Regional Head for Western Canada. Jason was appointed to his current position in October of 2015.

Jason holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and an MBA from the Edwards School of Business at The University of Saskatchewan and has completed an Executive Education program at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Business in New York. Jason is also a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Geneviève Brouillard

Regional Senior Vice President, Quebec & Eastern
Ontario Region

Ms. Geneviève Brouillard joined the Scotiabank team in April 2018. She is responsible for defining and implementing the strategic direction, goals and execution of key initiatives for the Branch Network across Quebec and Eastern Ontario Region.

Over the past 30 years, Genevieve has held various positions of increasing responsibility and has worked her way through the ranks of different Banking sectors such as: Retail Branch Banking, Commercial Banking; Small Business Banking, as well as Training and Sales effectiveness. She is passionate about sourcing and developing new talents, creating an inclusive culture, and building high-performing teams that focus on delivering solutions and building financial literacy for our customers.

Genevieve holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), a Bachelor's degree from the Université de Sherbrooke and is a member of the Canadian Bankers Association.

Jason Charlebois

Senior Vice President, Small Business Banking

Jason started his career in branch banking in Ottawa and his last branch assignment was at Scotia Plaza branch as a member of the management team.  Since then Jason has held roles across Wealth Management, Marketing, Digital Channels, Contact Centres, Mergers & Acquisitions, Credit Cards and Technology all within Scotiabank.  Jason has his MBA from Queen’s university and was a member of the Governor General’s leadership council.  He loves to travel and lives in downtown Toronto.

Jason’s last role before joining the Small Business team was SVP, Canadian Banking Technology.

Clement Chui

Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Canadian Banking

For over 16 years, Clement has worked for Scotiabank; starting with Scotia Asset Management back in 2002 where he was responsible for Risk & Portfolio Analytics.  In 2008, he joined Domestic Mergers & Acquisitions where he worked on the Bank’s acquisition of E*Trade Canada.

He later spent 4 years with the Bank’s International Banking Division – Asia Pacific (2008 to 2011).  Based in the Pacific Regional Office in Hong Kong; he focused on Corporate Development related activities for the region, which included the Bank’s strategic investments in the Bank of Xi’an (China) and Thanachart Bank / Siam City (Thailand).  As part of his mandate, Clement spent time travelling to different countries across Asia Pacific meeting with various financial institutions and conducting due diligence.

In 2012, Clement repatriated back to Toronto with Strategic Transactions & Review where he led Financial Review across the Bank’s corporate structuring activities.  Most recently in 2016, Clement joined Canadian Banking Finance where he is currently the SVP & Chief Financial Officer, leading a team of 100+ professionals and responsible for financial management and analysis; along with planning and forecasting for the Canadian Banking Division.

Born in Toronto, Clement holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm) degree specializing in Management & Economics from the University of Toronto, a MBA in Finance & International Business Strategy from the Schulich School of Business (York University) and is also a CFA charterholder.

In his spare time, Clement enjoys playing tennis, travelling and planning the next adventure with his wife and two children.

Barry Danilowitz

Vice President, Product Systems

Barry Danilowitz is a 25 year veteran of the technology industry with a broad range of experience in infrastructure, software development and technology management.

Barry has worked extensively on the vendor side of the software and hardware industry, and as a technology strategist and manager in the Digital Media and Financial Services sectors.

Following a number of years defining and implementing technology strategy programs at Scotiabank, Barry is currently VP Product Systems in Canadian Banking, and is responsible for the timely identification, development and implementation of technology solutions for the Small Business, Commercial, Retail Deposits and Investments, Day-to-Day Banking, Automotive Finance, Mortgages and Scotia Securities Inc. business lines.

John Doig

Executive Vice President,
Retail Distribution

John was appointed Executive Vice President, Retail Distribution in December, 2018. In this role he is responsible for defining and implementing the strategic direction, goals and execution of key initiatives for Retail Banking in Canada. John oversees all of Canadian Branch Banking and Small Business Banking.

John joined the Bank in 1998 and has held progressively senior positions in Wealth Management, Marketing and Retail Banking. Most recently he was Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, responsible for all global marketing, sponsorship, philanthropy, and corporate social responsibility activities, including securing the 20-year partnership between Scotiabank and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment and the naming of Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of SCENE.

John attended the University of Toronto and is a graduate of the Ivey Executive Program at the University of Western Ontario. He sits on the board of the National Gallery of Canada and is the executive champion of the Scotiabank Giller Prize. John and his wife Carrie have three sons – Riley, Cuan and Owen.

Tanya Eisener

Vice President, Commercial Banking GTA Region, National Payments, Cash Management and Leasing

In the role of Vice President, Commercial Banking GTA Region, National Payments and Cash Management and Leasing, Tanya Eisener leads a diverse sales team responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of Commercial customers across Canada. She is also an Advisory Board member of the Scotiabank Women Initiative.

Tanya began her career in Commercial Banking with Scotiabank in Halifax, and has since held various positions in Commercial Banking in Calgary, and now Toronto. Prior to joining Scotiabank, she worked in Accounting and Finance positions with Emera Inc.

Tanya holds a Business degree from Mount Saint Vincent University, an MBA from Saint Mary’s University, and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).

Outside of work, Tanya has held several volunteer positions including member on Canadian Finance & Leasing Association (CFLA), Canadian Private Enterprises Accounting Committee (PEAC) with the Accounting Standards Board, Nova Scotia Special Olympics Board of Directors, Management Committee Calgary Special Olympics, Nova Scotia Provincial SPCA Board of Directors, Nova Scotia YMCA Board of Directors, and a volunteer with St. John’s Ambulance Therapy Dog Program.

Laura Curtis Ferrera

Senior Vice President, Global Wealth Management, Global Business Banking & Canadian Banking

Laura Curtis Ferrera is responsible for the Global Wealth Management, Global Business Banking & Canadian Banking. She was a key contributor in launching the Scotia Wealth Management brand and within the GBB portfolio, striving to create a consistently rewarding client promise and brand experience across all business units.

Prior to joining Scotiabank Laura led the team that built prospecting strategies, propelling Macquarie Private Wealth to double their national network of advisors.  During this time, she oversaw all marketing resources and services deployed by advisors in their servicing of clients, winning top ranking for advisor support among all national, independent investment firms in Canada, according to the Investment Executive Brokerage Report Card from 2010 to 2014. 

Laura is currently an active member of the Duke of Edinburgh Board of Governors in Canada.    

Nicole Frew

Senior Vice President Internal Control, International Banking

Nicole is responsible for ensuring that International Banking’s strategic direction is executed with integrated business controls that reinforce a strong risk and control culture.  Prior to this role, she was Senior Vice President, Enterprise Risk where she oversaw the development of risk policies and risk appetite, enterprise reporting, recovery and resolution planning, global operational risk and model validation.  Nicole has held roles in Global Banking and Markets including Managing Director, Equity Derivatives, Global Equity and Advisory, focusing on equity derivatives transactions in Asia and Latin America. 

Prior to joining Scotiabank, Nicole was a partner at a large corporate law firm where her practice focused on derivatives, structured products and corporate lending.     

Pruyn Haskins

Co-Head, Global Capital Markets Managing Director, Head – Equity

Pruyn’s responsibilities focus on global equity, which includes Scotiabank’s global presence in institutional equity sales and trading, equity derivatives, prime services and equity research. Since joining Scotiabank in 1998, Pruyn has held progressively senior roles within the capital markets business. He currently chairs the Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee within Global Banking and Markets and has previously served as a Director of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC).

Pruyn is currently a board member of the Investment Industry Association of Canada and the Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada, as well as a member of the SickKids Campaign Cabinet.

He holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a CFA Charter holder. 

Heather Lloyd

Senior Vice President, Information Technology & Solutions

Heather is responsible for driving Enterprise IT Risk, governance, controls and strategic initiatives across the IT&S organization, including enterprise programs such as Project and Portfolio Management, IT Supplier Governance, IT Risk, Structural Cost Transformation, IT Performance and Communications.  She assumed this role in September 2016.

During her tenure as the SVP & Head of the International Banking IT Group, Heather was the CIO responsible for Technology for the Caribbean, Latin America, Asia Pacific and Mexico Systems teams.

Heather’s 28-year career started in Executive Office (EO) Finance.  From there she gained experience in both business and technology through a wide variety of progressively senior roles including Development, Architecture, Infrastructure and Business Relationship Management. She has worked in both Global Banking Markets and the International Banking Divisions.

Heather is a member of the Board for Tangerine Bank and SecureKey. 

Maria A. Mangiocavallo

Vice-President Commercial Banking, Quebec Region

Maria A. Mangiocavallo is the Vice-President Commercial Banking, Quebec Region with key responsibilities in leading and implementing the Commercial Bank market area sales strategies, deepening client relationships and leveraging the broader Bank’s relationships, systems and expertise. Maria leads a diverse team of relationship professionals dedicated to assisting mid-market Canadian businesses with their day to day banking needs, trade and financing requirements.

Maria joined Scotiabank in 1996, holding progressively more senior roles in Commercial Banking and Roynat Capital in Quebec. Maria was appointed to her current position in September of 2016.  

Maria is a board member of Société Alzheimers Rive-Sud. Past Board and volunteer positions include East Foundation, Board Member, JDRF Scotiabank, Quebec Region, President and Centraide/United Way Scotiabank, Quebec Region, Co-President.

Maria holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA CA) designation both from Concordia University. She is trilingual, speaking English, French and Italian, and lives in Montreal with her husband. When not working, Maria loves to travel and spend time in the high mountains. She is an avid hiker, mountaineer and cyclist. 

Scott Morrison

Director & Head, Commercial Derivative Products Group & Foreign Exchange, Sales

Scott Morrison is Director and Head, Commercial Derivatives Products Group and Foreign Exchange Sales.  Based in Toronto, Scott leads a diverse team who work with Mid-Market clients across Canada providing customized risk management solutions to mitigate market risks such as currency, interest rate and commodity exposures.

Scott joined Scotiabank in 2001 in Scotia Asset Management where he was part of the Institutional Sales Team. In 2003 he moved to Global Banking and Markets to join the Foreign Exchange Sales Team and in 2007 became part of the Derivative Products Group.    

Scott has over 17 years of experience within the financial services industry and is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario. Scott is an avid squash player and enjoys spending free time with his family.

Sloane Muldoon

Senior Vice President,
Prairie Region,
Canadian Branch Banking

Sloane Muldoon was named Senior Vice President, Prairie Region in May 2017.

Sloane has been with Scotiabank since 1991 and has held progressively more senior roles in the Bank.  Most recently, Managing Director for the Caribbean East Region and Country Head & Managing Director, Cayman Islands & British Virgin Islands.

Prior to this, Sloane assisted in developing the Bank’s long term strategies relative to strategic planning for the year 2020 and has held a number of Senior Management positions within the bank including District Vice-President, Alberta South, Vice President, Agriculture, Commercial Banking.

Sloane holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Saskatchewan, is an accredited Personal Financial Planner and completed the Executive Management Program at Schulich School of Business at York University, Toronto.

Sloane currently sits on the board for the Calgary Flames Foundation and SAIT School of Business Dean’s Advisory Council.  She is a participant for the Calgary Economic Development Committee.

Alida Pellegrino

Vice President, Credit Adjudication Canada

Alida Pellegrino joined the Scotiabank team in June 2017 and is responsible for leading the Credit Adjudication team in credit decisions for Canada for Retail, Small Business, Indirect Mortgage, Indirect Automotive and Private Banking segments. She provides strategic direction, leadership and oversight for this group ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are supported in compliance with governing regulations and internal policies.

Prior to Scotiabank, Alida worked in the financial services industry and has held executive roles in Commercial Banking, Commercial Financial Restructuring, Retail & Small Business Debt Collections & Recovery, and Product Management for Small Business & Agriculture, and both Commercial and Retail Risk Management. Alida has expertise across numerous industries, is a strong relationship builder and is well known for her passion for the customer, working on solutions to meet their needs.  

She holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business. Alida and her husband Fernando have two daughters, and two dogs that keep life busy and fun!

Rose Porter

Senior Vice President, Corporate Credit

Rose Porter is Senior Vice President, Corporate Credit for Scotiabank with responsibilities for Corporate and Real Estate Credit. Rose has a wealth of financial services industry expertise in business leadership, risk adjudication, client relationship management, and corporate finance. She has held increasingly senior positions in Global Risk Management as well as across divisions of the Bank: International Banking, Global Banking & Markets, and Canadian Banking. Rose is a founding member of the Scotiabank GRM Women in Leadership VP Board, and a member of the Investment Committee of WU, a United Way fund.

Rose holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Masters of Business Administration. She also holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.  

Dan Rees

Group Head, Canadian Banking

Dan Rees was appointed Group Head, Operations in August 2018. In this role, Dan is responsible for developing a bank-wide approach to efficiency and continuous improvement and for ensuring that key functional areas partner effectively with the business lines to improve our customer experience.

Over the course of his career, Dan has developed a track record of success in driving results and building strong teams. He first joined Scotiabank in 2000 and has held a number of increasingly senior roles in Canadian Banking, Wealth Management, Global Banking and Markets, Global Risk Management and International Banking. He was, most recently, Executive Vice President, Operations and prior to that appointment, Senior Vice President, Leadership in Human Resources, responsible for recruiting and developing the most senior level talent at the Bank.

Dan graduated from Queen’s University with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Economics Degree. He also earned a Master’s of Science in Management from The London School of Economics.

He is the Honorary Chair for the 2018 Ride to Conquer Cancer in support of the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation.

Jason Schneider

Senior Vice President,
Canadian Commercial Credit

Jason is responsible for working with our Canadian Banking partners to grow and manage the risk for the Commercial portfolio. He is also responsible for leading the risk professionals and workout bankers by providing management and oversight for the SAM portfolios globally.

Jason joined Scotiabank in January 2002, and has held progressively more senior roles in Credit Solutions, ScotiaMocatta, Forex and GRM. He has more than 14 years of diverse leadership and credit experience, and brings strong client relationship skills to his role. Jason has experience in both adjudicating corporate credit in a number of different industrial portfolios, as well as structuring and closing transactions in both the banking and trading environment. 

Jason is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds a MBA from York University.    

Anya Schnoor

Executive Vice President,
Retail Products

Anya Schnoor was appointed Executive Vice President, Retail Products for Canadian Banking in November 2017. In this role, Anya and her team are responsible for designing and delivering financial solutions that drive growth through Scotiabank’s Canadian branch network, call centres and digital channels.

A native of Jamaica, Anya’s experience in the financial services sector in the Caribbean spans more than 25 years in the areas of wealth management, insurance and banking. She is widely-recognized as a strong business leader in the Caribbean Region.

Anya first joined Scotiabank Jamaica in 2006 as Senior Vice President, Investments & Wealth, International Banking based in Jamaica. Since that time, she has taken on increased levels of responsibility for Scotiabank business across the region including, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Trinidad & Tobago, International Banking from 2012-2016, and most recently Senior Vice President and Head, Caribbean South & East, International Banking from 2016-2017 with responsibility for the Bank’s business across 12 countries in the Caribbean.

Anya has served on a variety of Scotiabank subsidiary and other external boards, and is an active member of the community. Most recently she served on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Trinidad and Tobago and she is currently a member of the International Women’s Forum (IWF) which is an organization dedicated to supporting the next generation of women leaders.

Anya holds a Master of Business Administration from Barry University and a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and International Business from Florida International University.

Naomi Shaw

Senior Vice President,
Human Resources

Naomi Shaw is currently the Senior Vice President, Human Resources, with HR responsibility across almost 50 countries for International, Digital, Canada and Global Banking and Markets groups.

Naomi has more than 20 years of experience in a variety of HR roles within Scotiabank. Before her role in Asia, she was the Vice President of Leadership, responsible for succession planning and leadership development globally. Her previous roles in HR included performance management, balanced scorecard, HR systems, career development, employee relations and HR integration.

Naomi has a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree in Economics from University of Toronto and a Master of Business Administration degree from Dalhousie University.  

Permpreet Sidhu

Vice President, Performance and Inclusion, Global Human Resources

Permpreet leads the Performance and Inclusion function within Global Talent with a mandate to build diverse, high performing teams across the Bank. In this role, she works closely with Scotiabank’s executive management to drive the change agenda for a culture of inclusion as the enabler for a high-performance organization.

Since joining Scotiabank in 2012, Permpreet has had held various roles in human resources with expertise in organizational design, leadership development, performance, human capital analytics, recruitment strategy and diversity and inclusion.

Prior to Scotiabank, Permpreet worked in the financial services industry within retail banking and institutional investment management. She speaks Punjabi and Spanish and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Financial Management from Wilfrid Laurier University.

When not working, Permpreet loves to be outdoors and explore different cities and countries. She is a passionate hiker.

Lesly Tayles

Senior Vice President, British Columbia & Yukon Region, Canadian Branch Banking

Lesly Tayles joined the Scotiabank team in December 2017 and is responsible for defining and implementing the strategic direction, goals and execution of key initiatives for the Branch Network across British Columbia and Yukon.

Lesly has held progressively senior roles across various banking areas including; Branch Banking, Small Business Banking, Commercial, Wealth Management, Project Management and Learning & Development.  She is passionate about creating an inclusive culture, sourcing and developing diverse talent and building high performing teams that focus on delivering solutions and building financial literacy for our customers.

She completed her MBA at Dalhousie University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Canadian Bankers.  Lesly and her husband Dave have two sons who keep them very active. 

Laurence Levy

Regional Vice President, Quebec and Eastern Ontario

As Regional Vice President of Quebec and Eastern Ontario, Laurence supervises a team of 4 Vice Presidents and 70 branches.

Laurence has been a Scotiabank employee for over 22 years. Throughout her different roles, she has acquired an extensive and varied experience on different business lines such as Retail, Small Business and more recently in Private Banking. Laurence is a high-energy client-centric leader and has a strong track record for coaching, driving results and working effectively with key partners and stakeholders.

She holds a Finance Undergraduate Degree from HEC-Montreal and an MBA from ESG UQAM. She is very involved in the community and sits on the board of Les Grands Ballets Canadiens.

Meigan Terry

Senior Vice President of Global Communications, Culture and Social Enterprise at Scotiabank

Meigan Terry is the Senior Vice President of Global Communications, Culture and Social Enterprise at Scotiabank.

Meigan has extensive experience leading global communications, brand management, corporate affairs and employee engagement for iconic global brands.  

Prior to joining Scotiabank in 2018, Meigan was a member of Virgin Atlantic’s leadership team in the role of Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Communications. In this position she managed all aspects of Virgin Atlantic’s communications, brand management, public policy, government affairs and social media. Meigan also led Virgin Atlantic’s sustainability, environment and community investment programs, in addition acting as executive sponsor for the Virgin Atlantic Foundation.

Before joining Virgin Atlantic, Meigan was at BlackBerry, Vice President of Corporate Affairs of Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific, Global Head of Advocacy, and Vice President, Marketing for BBM.

Prior to this, Meigan served as a Director at WPP Consultancy Hill & Knowlton in London.

Meigan serves on the Canadian Journalism Foundation Board in Toronto.

Meigan is delighted to be back in Toronto working at Scotiabank, after 18 years in the UK.  

Kevin Teslyk

Executive Vice President, Canadian Commercial Banking

Kevin is responsible for leading the Bank's Automotive Finance operations throughout Canada, including the Retail Prime lending and Commercial Automotive Finance businesses, and Near-Prime Retail lending business (Scotia Dealer Advantage).

Kevin joined Scotiabank in 1992 as a Teller and has held progressively senior roles within the Bank, both inside and outside of Canada, including in personal and commercial banking, corporate and investment banking, wealth management, finance and global risk management.

Kevin holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (Finance) from the Haskayne School of Business, The University of Calgary, and a Master of Business Administration Degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business, The University of Western Ontario.    

Phil Thomas

Executive Vice President & Chief Retail Risk Officer

Phil Thomas provides strategic direction, leadership and oversight for retail and small business credit risk globally. Ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are supported in line with risk appetite, governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. 

He leads a customer focused team to support deepening of client relationships. He leverages broader relationships, systems knowledge and experience to champion the implementation of best in class risk tools, technology and analytical capabilities to support profitable retail and small business growth.

Craig Thompson

Senior Vice President, Retail & Small Business Banking, Atlantic Canada

Craig Thompson joined Scotiabank in 1982 and has held a number of increasingly senior positions in International Trade Finance, Risk Adjudication, Branch Management and Commercial Banking while living in three of the four Atlantic Provinces.

Mr. Thompson was appointed Senior Vice President for Scotiabank’s Atlantic Region in April 2014.  In this position, Mr. Thompson is responsible for the profitable growth of the Bank’s personal and small business banking portfolio in Atlantic Canada.

Prior to being named Senior Vice President, Atlantic Region, Mr. Thompson was, most recently, Area Vice president, Commercial Banking for the Atlantic Region from 2008-2014,focused on the delivery of business banking services to large and medium-sized businesses throughout Atlantic Canada.

Mr. Thompson hails from Riverview, New Brunswick.  He holds a Bachelor of Science and an MBA from Dalhousie University.

In 2013, Mr. Thompson was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for Community Service in recognition of his long history of community involvement across the Atlantic Region.  He is currently Chair of Board for Hope Blooms Inc. and Vice Chair for United Way Halifax.

Mr. Thompson lives in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Julie Walsh

Senior Vice President, Corporate Secretary & Chief Corporate Governance Officer

Julie is responsible for serving as Corporate Secretary of the Board of Directors and for providing full corporate secretariat services and counsel to the Bank. As Chief Corporate Governance Officer, Julie leads the establishment and oversees the implementation of corporate governance strategies, policies, processes and practices across the Bank and its subsidiaries globally. Julie works with the Board of Directors and the Chairman, and with the management team and subsidiary boards on all matters related to corporate governance.

Julie joined the Bank in 2007 as Senior Legal Counsel. In 2014 she was appointed Vice-President of the Corporate Governance Office and subsequently appointed Senior Vice-President, Corporate Secretary and Chief Corporate Governance Officer in 2017.

Prior to joining Scotiabank, Julie practiced law at Osler LLP. Her practice focused on corporate, securities and corporate governance law.    

Nicole German

VP & Global Head of Enterprise Digital Marketing & Growth

As the Global Head & Vice President, Digital Marketing, Sales & Growth at Scotiabank, Nicole is responsible for Scotiabank’s global digital channel sales, marketing & growth strategy, ecommerce, digital customer experience and digital marketing & sales operations as well as pivotal contributor to the Bank’s over all digital transformation. Oversees the development of the global marketing technology strategy including roll out and enablement, all digital customer and digital commerce experiences and the digital acquisition, growth and performance teams.

Focused on building high performance teams and driving fast-paced growth for companies, Nicole has led marketing organizations for global enterprise software and technology companies including SAP, LinkedIn, Descartes Systems Group, Cube Route Inc., Platform Computing, Delano Technology Corp., Psion Teklogix and Hummingbird Communications and more. 

From start-up to enterprise, her experience and strengths include strategic development and delivery of global marketing and communications strategies; execution of integrated international marketing plans that provide high impact in a short period of time with limited resources; building and managing world class marketing teams that surpass objectives and expectations and have fun along the way; the development international strategic contacts and nurturing direct and indirect channels for business development and liaising between cross cultural businesses and individuals.

She also serves as a Vice Chair Governor of North York General Hospital Foundation, is the Founder & Executive Director of The Maddie Project, a youth mental health not for profit and a Strategic Advisor at a number of startup organizations including Talentoday and PieSync (acquired by Hubspot). In 2017, Nicole was recognized as an Urban Hero by Inside Toronto and with the Community and Charitable Giving Award by BMO Celebrating Women.

Mike Tasevski

Vice President of Global Sponsorship, Scotiabank

As Vice President of Global Sponsorship, Mike Tasevski is responsible for the strategic direction and execution of Scotiabank’s global sponsorship strategy. Prior to joining Scotiabank Mike had spent 10 years with Mastercard where he was able to hold progressively senior roles; Most recently Vice President North America Sponsorship based out of the New York office/ Vice President Merchant & Business Development (Strategically managing key Canada Merchants), Director Merchant Marketing/Sponsorship Canada and Director Issuing Accounts. In addition to the roles mentioned, Mikes diverse career journey began in the culinary industry working with many prominent global brands. Mike has also allowed held significant senior roles within the Rewards and Loyalty landscape developing programs for the financial/petroleum and culinary industry.
