The following definitions apply to these Terms and Conditions:
“Benefit” means the low rate under this Promotion.
“Cardholder” means the credit card holder.
“Low-Rate Credit Card  Cheques” refers to the low interest rate credit cardcheques offered in this Promotion.
“Promotional Period” means January 13, 2014 to March 30th 2014 inclusive.“Promotion” refers to this promotion and not any of the Bank’s other promotions or programs.
“Scotiabank” means Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago Limited.

  • This  promotional offer is open to legal residents of Trinidad and Tobago 18 years of age or older and are governed by the laws of Trinidad and Tobago.
  • This is a limited-time Promotion which will run from January 13th 2014 to March 30th 2014 (“the Promotional Period”).
  • Cash Advance transactions completed on eligible ScotiaBank Credit Cards will receive a low interest rate of 12.99% (hereafter referred to as the “Promotional Interest Rate Offer”).  These credit card accounts must be in good standing and not blocked, frozen, stolen or fraudulently obtained, mislaid, lost, delinquent or written off, or delinquent for two (2) or more cycles within the past twelve (12) months.
  • This special promotional interest rate offer of 12.99% is subject to credit availability, and the Terms and Conditions contained in your Cardholder Agreement.
  • To be eligible for this Promotional Interest Rate Offer, cash advances can only be completed in the local currency. If the total amount requested exceeds your available credit limit, the request may be declined.  If we are able to process a cash advance transaction above your limit, you may be subject to an overlimit fee.  Please visit our website at tt.scotiabank.com to confirm your available balance.
  • Should your account have a promotional interest rate and you do not make your monthly minimum payment by the due date, you will lose this promotional interest rate offer and the standard cash advance interest rate will apply.
  • Cash advances processed during this promotion do not qualify for any reward or rebate programs. Cash advance fees will be waived for this promotion.
  • Cash advances processed during this promotion should not be applied towards repayment of any Scotiabank debts.
  • Your payment will be first applied to any unpaid interest, followed by the annual fee and then to any promotional/low-rate balances as follows: promotional unpaid interest, billed promotional balances (balances which appeared on the most recent statement), then unbilled promotional balances. Payments are then applied to fees and charges, then billed cash advances and purchases, followed by any unbilled cash advance and purchase transactions. 
  • This Promotional Interest Rate Offer applies to eligible transactions for 3 billing cycles following the posting of the first promotional transaction, or until the balance is paid off in full – whichever comes first.  Any cash advance transaction must occur prior to June 15th 2014, to receive this promotional rate.
  • Cash advance transactions processed after the promotional period will be processed at the regular rate.
  • Transactions will appear on your monthly statement as CASH ADVANCE.
  • A Cardholder’s benefit earned through participation in this Promotion will be forfeited in the event that the Cardholder ceases to be a Cardholder at any time during the Promotion or transaction on the card is reversed.
  •  In all matters relating to the Promotion, the decision of the Bank shall be final and binding in all respects.
  • Scotiabank has the right to exclude any individual from this offer in its absolute discretion without any obligation to provide notice or reason.
  • Scotiabank reserves the right in its absolute discretion to vary the terms and conditions of this Promotion or change or withdraw this Promotion at any time without giving any reason. In the event of a dispute arising from this Promotional offer, the Bank’s decision is final.
