Anne-Marie Ninacs is an independent researcher and curator. Guest Curator of Le Mois de la Photo à Montréal 2011, she developed the event (25 solo exhibitions, a 350-pages scientific publication and a colloquium) under the theme Lucidity. Inward Views. From 2002 to 2006, she acted as Curator of Contemporary Art at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec where she has signed several exhibitions, namely Massimo Guerrera. Darboral; Diane Borsato. The Twitching Project; Rita Letendre. In the Colours of the Day; Timepieces and Proceeding in the

Fog. She was back at the MNBAQ in 2010 for the presentation of her recent exhibition project Chimère/Shimmer. Ninacs has also held the curator’s position at the Musée d’art de Joliette (1999-2000), lead the year-long special programming Les commensaux at the Centre des arts actuels Skol in Montreal (2000-2001, with Patrice Loubier), and curated the exhibition Alain Paiement. The World in the Works at Galerie de l’UQAM (2002). In 2005, she was awarded the Prix Reconnaissance from the Université du Québec à Montréal for her commitment to the Québec arts scene, and in 2007 the Fellowship in Canadian Art from the National Gallery of Canada for her research on the art of David B. Milne. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in art history at the Université de Montréal, where her work focuses on the links between human consciousness and the visual arts.
