Terms and Conditions – 'Acts of Holiday Happiness' Social Media Contest

1.0 Definitions

  • The following definitions apply to these Terms and Conditions:
  • "Contest" refers to this 'Acts of Holiday Happiness' contest and not any other of Scotiabank or its affiliates' Contests, Programs, Sweepstakes or Campaigns.
  • "Promotion" refers to this promotion and not any of the Banks's other promotions or programs.
  • "Contest Period" means from December 7, 2015 to December 21, 2015 inclusive.
  • "Scotiabank" and "the Bank" means Scotiabank Jamaica

2.0 How to participate

  • 2.1 This contest will take place on Facebook only
  • 2.2 Throughout the contest period, persons will be invited to vote for their Charity of choice from a predetermined list; the contest allows only one vote per person. At the end of the contest period, the Charity with the highest number of votes will be selected as the winner of the Top donation.
  • 2.3 Votes will only be recognized through the "Acts of Holiday Happiness" App that is accessed through Scotiabank's Facebook Page
  • 2.4 There will be a consolation cash award for the Charity with the second highest votes as stated below.

3.0 Eligibility

  • 3.1 This Promotion is open to legal residents of Jamaica, 18 years of age or older, with the exception of employees of the Bank or the Bank's affiliates, their immediate family members (spouses, parents, children, siblings and their respective spouses) and/or persons living in the same household. Employees of the Bank's advertising and promotional agencies, their immediate family members, relatives and/or persons living in the same household are also not eligible to enter.

4.0 Draw Details & Prizes

  • 4.1 For the Top Donation, the Charity will be announced on December 28.
  • 4.2 For the consolation prizes, the Charities will be announced on December 28.
  • 4.3 There will be one Top Donation winner selected on Facebook
  • 4.4 Prizes for each contest winner are as follows:
  • Top Donation Winner – A cash award of JMD $150,000
  • Second Place Winner – A cash award of JMD $50,000

5.0 Consumer Disclosure/Notification of winners

  • 5.3 Prizes will be distributed on January 15, 2016
  • 5.4 Information related to both Charities may be published in the media.
  • 5.5 Scotiabank reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to void any and all votes of persons who Scotiabank believes has attempted to tamper with or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of this contest.
  • 5.6 In all matters relating to this Contest, the decision of the Bank shall be final and binding in all respects.
  • 5.7 The Bank reserves the right to modify/change any or all of the terms and conditions applicable to this Contest or to cancel this Contest entirely without assigning any reasons or without any prior notification whatsoever.
  • 5.8 These terms and conditions apply only to this Contest and do not apply to any of the Bank's other Contests, Programs, Contests, Sweepstakes or Campaigns.
  • 5.9 This is a limited time Contest and will run during the Promotion Period
  • 6.0 Voluntary participation in the Contest constitutes acceptance of all of the terms and conditions governing this Contest.
