Scotiabank/Habitat Build a Home Campaign

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This promotion is open to legal residents of Guyana who are 18 years of age or older. Employees of Scotiabank (hereinafter referred to as “the Bank”) and/or those living in the same household of each and their immediate families (spouses, parents, children and siblings and their respective spouses), its Advertising Agency and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to participate in the sweepstakes component of this promotion.

HOW TO ENTER

  • Participation in this promotion is voluntary and at the option of the customer
  • The customer agrees to participate and be eligible  for the sweepstakes component of this promotion by completing an entry coupon/s provided by the Bank
  • For every Scotia Plan Loan, Auto Loan or Mortgage applied for and disbursed between March 1, 2013 and October 31, 2013 (the promotional period) Scotiabank will donate a percentage of the value of the loan towards Habitat for Humanity to build a home for Amanda Anthony and her family.  
  • The customer will receive entries into quarterly draws as follows:

Over $1,000,000.00 4 entries for every million (rounded to the nearest million) e.g. a $1.5 million loan will get 8 entries while a $5.3 million loan will get 20 entries

OFFICIAL RULES

  • There are no limits on how many times a customer can enter
  • Only one quarterly prize to a winner. Should a winner of the quarterly prize draws be selected for the same or subsequent quarterly draws, that selection will be ineligible
  • Customers must apply for and receive their loan proceeds between March 1, 2013 and October 31, 2013 to be eligible for entry into the promotion
  • Winners will be deemed ineligible if any of their loan facilities are not up to date, including business loans, credit cards and Scotia Line, and another draw will be conducted to select a winner
  • The prizes are not transferable and are subject to change at the sole discretion of Scotiabank. The prizes must be accepted as awarded. No substitutions are available nor will there be any substitutions for any cash value. The suppliers of the prizes will be directly responsible for any warranty applicable to the prizes

 

CONSUMER DISCLOSURE/NOTIFICATION OF WINNER

  • The winners will be notified by telephone within seven (7) days from the date of the draws and must provide proof of identity to be confirmed as winners
  • The winners will be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/Prize Acceptance and Release. Completion and signing of the Affidavit must be done within seven (7) days of the official notification from the Bank, in order to confirm the winners.
  • If the winner(s) cannot be contacted by telephone after 5 attempts within five (5) days at a number on Scotiabank’s records, the Bank has the option to draw another name.
  • The winners’ names will be published in the media. The winners must agree to the use of his or her names and photographs without compensation in any forthcoming publicity by Scotiabank. The winners will also be responsible for any taxes, insurance and expenses not explicitly stated as part of their prize
  • The winner will forfeit prizes not collected within one (1) week after the winner has been duly notified, without any subsequent compensation to them.
