How do I find out what projects Scotia Digital is working on?

  • Stay up to date on Scotiabank and our Digital leaders by following them on social, don’t be scared to engage with them either! They are a great resource and will provide you with great updates and insight into what we have been up to!
  • Network with current Scotia Digital employees and they can share info on anything that is not strictly confidential of course!
  • Not to brag, but we think our website is pretty cool and a great resource for projects, press releases, news, and other content that will help you understand what we are all about.

How do I know I’ll fit in with the culture at Scotia Digital?

  • Truthfully, we’re not a fan of using the word fit or even culture. We’re looking for folks who will add value to the organization and elevate us to be even better together. So, if you value inclusivity, teamwork, collaboration, agility, and you relentlessly strive to build the best possible products, Scotia Digital could be a great match!
  • We are a very inclusive place; we have people from all walks of life working here, so you will be welcomed with open arms! We also have bi-weekly townhalls to make sure you know the latest of what’s going on at all times. It also provides a platform to voice questions, thoughts, comments, and/or concerns directly to our Leadership team.
  • During your first week, you get to meet all the other new folks and be taken through a virtual walkthrough of all our different functions or as calling them, Communities of Practice.
  • During your first few weeks, our Support team will arrange to walk you through what you need to know about our virtual “work-from-home” community and where to find all the things you need.

How do I impress you during an interview?

We know interviewing can be nerve-wracking especially given it’s all virtual now, but taking some deep breaths, staying calm, and being yourself can go a long way.

  • Be yourself and be confident in the skills that you’d bring to the role you’re applying to. Know how to speak to your experience clearly and concisely.
  • Do your research on Scotia Digital and show interest in the products we’re building by asking your interviewers questions. Be curious and engaging in the interview.
  • Being honest and setting expectations if you don’t have a particular skill set is okay. Honesty is the best policy.
  • Don’t be scared to ask your interviewer for clarity or to repeat the question. It will help you provide a more accurate answer if you know you understood the question.
  • Always come prepared to ask questions – not only does it show curiosity, but it signals interest.

What are the most important skills to have to be considered at Scotia Digital?

You are technically strong of course but soft skills are so important too!

  • You keep yourself up to date with what’s happening in the broader digital tech landscape and in digital banking.
  • You bring new ideas and insights, collaborate with and challenge your teammates, and continuously raise the bar.
