To qualify for the $300 bonus, (1) you must qualify as a StartRight customer, (2) you must open a Scotiabank Momentum Chequing Account or Scotia One Account (an “Eligible Account”) between September 1, 2017 and October 31, 2017 and (3) set up your payroll so that it is deposited into your Eligible Account or set up a minimum of 2 pre-authorized transactions for a minimum of $25 per transaction. Your payroll or pre-authorized transactions must clear the account within 60 days of account opening. All pre-authorized transactions must clear the Eligible Account at least once per month for a period of twelve (12) months in order to qualify. Employees of The Bank of Nova Scotia (“Scotiabank”) and individuals who are/were previously holders or joint holders of an Eligible Account, Scotia® Moneyback Account, Powerchequing® Account, Basic Banking Account, Basic Banking Plan, Scotia Value® Account, or Student Banking Advantage® Plan are not eligible. The Eligible Account must be open and in good standing until the time of payout. The Eligible Account is not in “good standing” if (i) it has a negative balance exceeding the authorized overdraft limit or (ii) it has been in continuous overdraft for a period of three (3) consecutive months. The $300 bonus will be paid in two separate deposits of $100 and $200 into the Eligible Account within 120 days of account opening providing the above criteria has been met. Your application for credit and the credit limit assigned (up to $5,000 for Permanent Residents/Foreign workers and up to $1,000 for International Students) will be determined based on Scotiabank’s credit criteria, including your verifiable income and credit history (if available). A credit history in Canada is not required in order to be eligible for credit under the Scotiabank StartRight Program. To qualify for a credit card, you must be a resident of Canada and the age of majority.
The Scotiabank StartRight Auto Finance Program is available through all Scotiabank authorized dealerships in Canada. This program is only available for Permanent residents and Foreign Workers. Subject to Scotiabank credit approval and financing terms and conditions. Downpayment required.

Qualifying students are full-time students enrolled at a Canadian university, community college, CEGEP or other recognized post-secondary institution. To take advantage of the Student Banking Advantage Plan account benefits, you will need to provide your branch with proof that you are enrolled full-time at a qualifying post-secondary institution each academic year prior to November 30th. When you are no longer enrolled full-time or you have not presented proof of enrolment, the plan will be removed and the account will automatically be converted to an account that is suitable to you based on your recent transaction behaviour. Personal identification requirements must be met.
The Getting There Savings Program for Youth is available to customers up to a certain maximum age. The Getting There Savings Program for Youth account has no monthly Account fees. All other fees not covered by your banking package will continue to apply, including fees charged by other financial institutions and access fees to use non-Scotiabank banking machines (e.g. Interac††, Visa* or PLUS* fees). When you reach the maximum age for the account, the account will automatically be converted to an account that is suitable for you based on your recent transaction behaviour.
