The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon is less than a week away on Sunday, October 20! Who are some of runners that we’re most excited about? People who are making their run matter by taking part in the Scotiabank Charity Challenge.
The Scotiabank Charity Challenge provides a simple way for runners to support the charity of their choice and make a significant impact locally. If you are interested in taking the Scotiabank Charity Challenge, you can find out more here and fundraise for any one of the 190 participating charities.
We continue our “Why I run” series with the creative minds behind The KickBack and Company.
Meet Jamal and Christian
Jamal Burger and Christian Epistola are taking the Scotiabank Charity Challenge for The KickBack and Company, an initiative they co-founded. The Kickback is an initiative that uses sneaker culture to empower youth locally and globally. They give lightly worn sneakers to teens in low income communities and have a number of youth-focused outreach projects. On October 20, Jamal and Christian will be running with a 25 person collective of young people and mentors.
Jamal and Christian tell us why they are running this year.
