Scotiabank is proud to maintain a branch operation in U.S. Virgin Islands, where it has operated for more than 42 years.
Scotiabank opened its first branch on October 7, 1963 in St. Thomas, Market Square. Activity in the branches in U.S. Virgin Islands reflected the economic growth of the country and was heavily centered on the tourist industry. Business continued to grow during the seventies and eighties and, by 2005, eight more branches had been established.
With 9 branches throughout the country, Scotiabank offers a complete range of retail, commercial banking, including offshore banking services. The Bank has about 280 employees, plus 10 ATMs. In 2005, Scotiabank introduced Internet banking in U.S. Virgin Islands.
Our Offshore Banking Unit has two employees in one branch office, offering financial services to offshore international business corporations such as loans, letters of credit and interest-bearing deposits.
