Scotiabank
Members of the Banking Industry

The Large Value Transfer System (LVTS) was developed by Scotiabank in concert with members of the banking industry, including:

  • The Canadian Payments Association (CPA)
  • The Members of the CPA (i.e., the major banks and trust companies)
  • The Canadian Bankers Association
  • The Bank of Canada

Each of the participants continue to play a role in ensuring the LVTS is an efficient and reliable mechanism for transferring funds.

  • The CPA supports and administers the system, daily
  • CPA members provide their clients with access to the LVTS as well as submit collateral to secure all of the system's transactions
  • The Bank of Canada monitors the flow of payments through the LVTS and administers the funds that guarantee the payment of all the system's transactions

Enhancing Competitiveness

At Scotiabank, we continue to work with the CPA to make sure that the system enhances the competitiveness of Canadian businesses within and beyond our borders. At the same time, we will continue to ensure that LVTS causes no disruption for clients conducting large value transfers.
