Scotiabank is proud to maintain branch operations in Turks & Caicos, where it is entering the 25th year of operations.
Scotiabank opened its first branch in 1982 in Grand Turk. Retail and Commercial banking expanded in the late 1980's with the addition of Providenciales branch. Activity in the branches reflected the economic growth of the country and was heavily centered on local business and the increasing tourism industry. Business continued to grow during the 1990's and, by 2002 a brand new branch was opened in Providenciales to replace the existing premises which had been outgrown. Expansion continues in 2006 with a proposed new branch in Grace Bay slated to open in 2007 and the expansion of premises planned for both Grand Turk and Providenciales branches underway.
Scotiabank offers a complete range of retail and commercial banking services through it's branch network. The Bank employs approximately 70 employees in the country, plus operates 7 ATMs. In 2006, Scotiabank introduced Internet banking in Turks & Caicos.
A strong supporter of various community initiatives, Scotiabank Turks & Caicos' contributions range from sports causes, to education, health, and arts and culture including donations to local high schools in support of graduation exercises, local charities involving the care and welfare of children and contributions to combat the ongoing battle with AIDS in Turks & Caicos and across the Caribbean region.
