With Scotia CritiCare, insurance coverage is provided in the event of diagnosis of any of the following critical illnesses:
Heart Attack, Stroke, Cancer, Major Burns, Paralysis, Blindness, Deafness, Loss of Speech or Coma. |
If you are diagnosed with any of the listed critical illnesses, Scotia CritiCare can help you and your family cope with the expenses and ensure you are able to concentrate on getting better.
There is no Medical exam required and all Jamaicans from 18 – 60 are eligible for Scotia CritiCare. You can choose from coverage amounts ranging from J$750,000 to J$2,000,000, which will be payable upon first diagnosis of the covered illnesses.
An optional Accidental Death and Dismemberment benefit, is also available at the time you enroll for coverage. This benefit includes:
Accidental Death Benefit
- Pays 100% of Sum Insured minus any applicable benefits previously paid for Accidental Dismemberment
Accidental Dismemberment Benefit
- Loss of a hand, foot, or sight in one eye: 50% of Sum Insured
- Loss of two or more of the above: 100% of Sum Insured
- Loss of thumb or index finger: 20% of Sum Insured
- Loss of thumb and index finger: 25% of Sum Insured
Premiums are based on your age at your last birthday as of the Policy date, as well as your gender and you can even choose the frequency of your premium payments.
The plan expires on the later of the policy anniversary after the Insured’s 75th birthday, or the 20th anniversary of the policy.
Once you have purchased this coverage, you will have the opportunity to examine the policy contract and if you are not satisfied for any reason, just notify the Company in writing within 10 days of the Policy Date that you do not want this insurance and any premiums paid will be refunded without interest.
