Hugh Reid
General Manager
Hugh Reid has been appointed as General Manager of Scotia Jamaica Life Insurance Company, effective May 3, 2010.
Hugh Reid has a wealth of experience spanning over 17 years in the financial sector and in his capacity as General Manager he will be responsible for driving the growth and profitability of Scotia Insurance, building on a great legacy left for him. His focus will be on expanding the insurance franchise of the group.
Prior to joining Scotiabank Group, Hugh held the post of SVP & Chief Operating Officer at Victoria Mutual Building Society. He has also held executive level positions at National Housing Trust, Prime Life Assurance Company, and the former Life of Jamaica.
Hugh currently holds a Masters of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of the West Indies. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants UK (1991) and Jamaica (1993). Hugh is an active, ardent and distinguished Kiwanian.
Lois Heslop, MBA, FLMI, AAPA
Assistant General Manager, Operations & Service Delivery
With approximately 28 years of service in insurance administration including branch operations, Mrs. Heslop has achieved great successes in gaining operational efficiency and developing customer service solutions.
Mrs. Heslop earned a Master degree in Business Administration - Finance & Banking from, Mona School of Business, University of the West Indies. She has a Bachelor of Science - Management Studies degree and holds a Fellow of Life Management Institute (FLMI) - Management Science and an Associate Annuity Products & Administration (AAPA) designation. Mrs. Heslop continuously participates in a number of courses and seminars in customer service, productions and operations techniques
Among her personal interests, Mrs Heslop enjoys medical and forensic science documentaries and physical training.
Marsha N Williams, ACCA
Finance Manager & Compliance Officer
Mrs. Williams joined Scotiabank in 2002 as a Management Trainee in the Comptroller Department, over the years she has held other positions in the bank namely Assistant Comptroller-Subsidiaries as well as her previous role as Manager Treasury & Foreign Exchange Trading where she was responsible for managing the Banks sizable investment portfolio. Mrs Williams joined the SJLIC management team in February 2008 as Finance Manager and Compliance Officer.
Mrs Williams successfully achieved the ACCA designation during her tenure at PricewaterhouseCoopers and is currently a fellow of that organization. At PricewaterhouseCoopers she gained vast experience in auditing various sectors such as manufacturing, distribution, insurance and finance.
She is currently pursuing her Masters in Finance from the Manchester School of Business.
Lorna Gordon-Elliott, MBA, FLMI, ACS
Manager, Creditor Life
Mrs. Lorna Gordon-Elliott joined the Scotia Jamaica Life Insurance family in January 2005 as Creditor Life Manager bringing a wealth of experience in life insurance, having spent in excess of 20 years in the industry. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of the West Indies and a Master of Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University. Mrs. Gordon-Elliott also holds the Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FMLI) and Associate of Customer Service (ACS) designations. She is married and has one daughter.
Lana Forbes, MBA
Director, Sales & Delivery Channel
Mrs. Lana Forbes joined SJLIC on November 1, 2006 as Senior Sales Manager. She has had a successful career in sales and sales management with over 20 years of experience in the field. Mrs. Forbes holds an Executive Master of Business Administration degree, a postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies, and a Bachelor of Arts Computer Studies degree from University of the West Indies.
Erica Anderson
Product Development Manager
Miss Erica Anderson joined the Scotia Insurance team in 2008 as Product Development Manager, where she is responsible for developing and implementing new products. She holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University as well as a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Manchester Business School. Miss Anderson has fourteen (14) years working experience in Jamaica and United States of America in the areas of Business Development, Project Management, Insurance Regulations, and Examinations. She has worked at a number of financial institutions both in the Government and Private sector, including the Financial Services Commission, John Hancock Life Insurance Company and NEM Insurance.
Kenroy Wedderburn
Manager, Operations Development and Projects
Kenroy Wedderburn joined Scotia Insurance in 2004, prior to joining Scotia Insurance he was the Director of MIS at the Ministry of Education.
Kenroy holds a doctorate degree in Business Administration from the Nova Southeastern University in Florida, a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Pace University in New York and a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree in Management and Computing from the University of Technology. He also holds the Associate Annuities Products and Administration (AAPA) insurance designation and is a trained Project Manager.
