Educational Grant Program

The products referred to below are offered only by Scotia Jamaica Building Society (a wholly owned subsidiary of The Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Limited).

Students who are active Scotia Achiever or Scotia Optimum savers, and are pursuing their final year of studies, may apply for an educational grant. The educational grant will be awarded by way of a panel decision. The saver's account must have been active for at least six months to be eligible for an educational grant.

Applicants must be students at any of the following institutions accredited by the University Council of Jamaica:

Final year students pursuing a diploma program at the following community colleges:

  • Browns Town Community College
  • Montego Bay Community College
  • Excelsior Community College
  • Knox Community College
  • Portmore Community College

Final year students pursuing a diploma program at the following teachers' colleges:

  • Mico Teachers' College
  • Sam Sharpe Teachers' College
  • Shortwood Teachers' College
  • St. Joseph's Teachers' College

Final year students pursuing a diploma program at:

  • Jamaican Institute of Management (JIM)

Final year students pursuing an undergraduate program at the following universities:

  • University College of the Caribbean
  • Northern Caribbean University (NCU)
  • Nova Southeastern University (local program)
  • The University of the West Indies (UWI)
  • University of Technology (UTECH)
