Meet the 2016
To ensure that the Scotiabank Photography Award is a Canada-wide peer driven search, nominators have been selected from a national selection of experts in the field of contemporary art, inclusive of art gallery directors, curators, practicing artists, professors, writers and critics. The nominees will be adjudicated by three jurors with Edward Burtynsky as jury chair.

Today, Scotiabank Photography Award proudly announces the finalists for the 2016 Award: Pascal Grandmaison, Suzy Lake and Jayce Salloum.
The Scotiabank Photography Award is Canada’s largest and most prestigious peer-nominated, peer-reviewed photography award. Founded in 2010, this Award recognizes the achievements of an established mid to later-career artist and the outstanding contribution that he or she has made to contemporary art and photography in Canada.
January 28th, 2016 (Toronto, ON) – The Scotiabank Photography Award presents its 2016 longlist
Today, Scotiabank proudly presented the nominees for the 2016 Scotiabank Photography Award.
The winner of the Scotiabank Photography Award will receive a cash prize of $50,000, a major solo exhibition at the Ryerson Image Centre, and a primary exhibition at the 2016 Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival. In addition, a book of their work will be published and distributed worldwide by Steidl of Germany.
