We have been alerted to a round of new emails that are now being circulated, purportedly by Scotiabank, requesting that customers update their personal and/ or banking information.

Scotiabank, as a policy, does not send and is not sending email messages to customers requesting confidential information about their account(s).

If you receive any suspicious emails or unsolicited pop-up windows that claim to have originated from Scotiabank, please call 1-888-4-SCOTIA and report the matter to Scotiabank.

If you have already provided personal information through an email, website or pop-up window:

Immediately contact Scotiabank or visit your branch to report the incident.

If you did not provide any personal information, please forward the fraudulent email or information to phishing@scotiabank.com.

Please don't change or retype the subject line as this will hinder our ability to properly investigate the matter. After forwarding the e-mail, delete it from your in-box. You will then receive an automated receipt of confirmation from Scotiabank.
