The Trench Town Reading Centre

The Trench Town Reading Centre (TRC) The Trench Town Reading Centre (TRC) is a library and reading centre facility in Jamaica, founded by Canadian educator, Roslyn Elliot, in the inner city community of Trench Town. Roslyns passion for education gave birth to the idea TRC to provide inner city children with a hope for improving their reading and literacy skills and to overall enhance their future.

The Reading Centre is a literary oasis where youngsters can quench their thirst for knowledge and greatly improve their literary skills.

On Saturday August 9, 2008, the Scotia Wealth Management Division will host this years Annual Trench Town Spelling Bee Competition. The Spelling Bee will see over 70 spellers competing for various prizes. There will be lots of fun and excitement. The event will see over 30 volunteers from the Scotia Wealth Management team giving back to children in this volatile community. They will continue working with the TRC to bring hope and inspiration to children in the community!
