Scotiabank team members clear a gully of dead leaves and debris along Holland Bamboo
Avenue in St. Elizabeth. Approximately 200 Scotiabankers volunteered to bush the area,
remove debris, mulch and replant 100 bamboo suckers as part of the Banks 2007 Labour Day initiative.
Scotiabankers worked along with a core team from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Tourism
Product Development Company to rehabilitate the area, which is a well known tourist attraction andlocal heritage site.
Scotiabank in the classroom
Ms. Claire Goroughsingh listens keenly to a student of the Vere Technical High School as he answers a question she posed to him while serving as his substitute teacher last Wednesday. Claire was one of over 260 Scotiabankers who served in over 175 schools across the island last Wednesday which was being observed as Teachers' Day.
A Choirmaster is Born?
His Worship, Desmond McKenzie, Mayor of Kingston enjoys a moment as
choirmaster, when he visited the recent rehearsal of the Scotia Singers. The group was
preparing for Scotia Singers Annual Carol Service, scheduled for December 14, 2006 at
the Emancipation Park. The Scotia Singers Carol Service is part of the Banks
contribution to the Citys celebration of Christmas and is one of the most anticipated
events of the season. Scotiabank has also made a contribution of $100,000
to the Mayors Christmas Fund.
