Electronic Data Capture (EDC) has been introduced for credit card merchants providing greater efficiency and fraud protection, and Scotiabank has partnered with the Society of Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT) network, the most efficient international payments systems, enabling faster processing of both outgoing and incoming remittances, as well as facilitating the prompt establishment of letters of credit.
