Mr. Brian Porter is Group Head of the parent Company, The Bank of Nova Scotia and he oversees all of the Bank's personal, small business and commercial banking operations in some 50 countries outside of Canada. He joined Scotiabank in Toronto in 1981 and held a variety of management positions, including Deputy Chairman, Scotia Capital prior to his appointment as Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer, Scotiabank, Canada in 2005.
Mr. Porter was appointed Chairman of Scotia Group Jamaica Limited on March 2, 2011and The Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Limited on November 25, 2010.
Mr. Porter is the past Chairman of the Investment Dealers Association of Canada (IDA), a member of the Faculty of Management Board of Advisors, Dalhousie University. He received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Dalhousie University and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program of Harvard Business School. |
