How do I deposit funds into my Scotia iTRADE Account?

Once you open an account, we will add the bank account you provide to the transfer funds menu so you can deposit or withdraw funds online by logging onto the Scotia iTRADE website.
To add additional bank accounts to your profile, including non-Scotiabank accounts, simply send us the Easy Transfer Form, and a void cheque with your name pre-printed on it.
Other methods of Deposit include Bill Payments, Cheques, and Wires, while withdrawals can be processed via Cheque or Wire. For full details, visit our Help Centre.
How do I check the status of my inter-broker transfer? Click to expand
If all of your documents are in good order, the transfer should take no longer than 45 business days from the time the transfer is initiated. This regulation applies to transferring brokers only; banks and trusts are not subject to this restriction. Standard processing time is 4-5 weeks. ATON* firms (Account Transfer Online Notification Systems) take 10-15 business days from the time the delivering institution receives instructions, assuming the account was approved.

To request to have your login password or access code reset please call Scotia Online Customer service at 1-800-472-6842 Option 3 then 1.

How do I check the status of my New Account Application? Click to expand
If applying online or in-branch, you will receive an account number when you complete your application, which you can use to contact us regarding the status of your account. If applying by mail, please allow 3-5 weeks for your application to be processed.

What is the cost to open / use / trade on an account? Click to expand
There is no cost to open an account. You can view our fee schedule here.
/Where can I find my TFSA Contribution limit? Click to expand
The CRA sends out a T1 Notice of Assessment each year to notify you of your contribution limit for the year. Alternatively, you may contact the CRA directly at 1-800-959-8281 as our representatives do not have access to this information. To view how your contribution limit is determined, see this link from the CRA website.
How do I update my mailing address / e-mail address? Click to expand
To Update your mailing address click on Manage My Accounts -> Profile -> Update (next to Primary Address).
To update your e-mail address, click on Manage My Accounts -> Profile -> Update (next to E-mail).
What tax statements should I expect to receive? Click to expand
If you held Mutual Funds or Trust Units, which declared distributions paid, a T3 will be mailed to you by April 2nd.
If you received dividends or interest, a T5 will be mailed to you on or before Feb 28th.
For RRSP contributions made during the first 60 days of the year, a receipt will be mailed to you the next business day. For contributions made during the remainder of the year, a receipt will be mailed the second week of January the following year.
