Learn Easier Ways to Save

Save the easy way - with pre-authorized contributions

Some people find it challenging to budget in order to save money. We suggest that you simply set aside the money you want to save automatically – a little at a time.

Just take the money you want to save out of every paycheque first, along with all the other important monthly payments you make automatically. In this way, you and your family become the most important beneficiaries of your income.
Our Pay Yourself First™ plan is a pre-authorized contribution that’s easy to put in place, and a savings process you’ll hardly notice.

How much can you afford to save?

Your target savings could be simply one hour of your pay each day. If that’s too much at this time, start small, say $25 a paycheque, and work up from there. Try our Future Value Calculator to see how easy it is to save automatically. Once you see how easy it is, you can consider increasing your savings amount gradually over time.

Here's how to put your financial information to work:

  • Come into your nearest Scotiabank branch and talk to an advisor about tailoring a plan that's right for you.
  • OR call 1-800-4SCOTIA (1-800-472-6842).
