What about careers in support functions?
Scotiabank understands the difference between external customers, and internal customers. Key support functions include audit, finance, human resources, technical, training, and communications – and are all recognized for their contribution to our success.
How is professional and skill development supported?
Training and re-training are inevitable and important to keep up with the pace of change. Scotiabank keeps everyone up to speed through an on-line Learning Management System. Hands on learning through job swapping and shadowing is reinforced with an Educational Assistance Program that allows employees to take courses towards a relevant degree or diploma. And membership allowances get us out into the industry to network and hone our knowledge and contacts.
Is balancing work and family supported?
The benefit of balancing work and life is a reality that Scotiabank fully supports through programs that allow for job sharing and flexible hours. We have access to an Employee Assistance Program, and there are policies in place that support balancing work and life. Scotiabank walks the talk on this one!
Are there product and service advantages?
Scotiabank employees enjoy no charge bank accounts, best customer rate credit products, reduced rates or no service fees on things like credit cards, cheques and safety deposit boxes. As well, we’re offered group insurance rates, group RSP’s and a comprehensive and flexible benefit package. We’re not only employees – we’re customers!
