How is working in Scotia Capital unique?

The trading floor is fast-paced, noisy and distracting, but in total synchronization - perfect for someone who enjoys constant mental stimulation and the personal challenge of adapting to a fluid environment. In fact, change is practically the only constant in my day.

How are you supported in your role?

I have the opportunity to work and learn alongside a diverse and high caliber group of people, both in Scotia Capital and within the larger banking group. And the Global Trading Rotation Program provided me with experience, skills and contacts that help me succeed.

What are the rewards of working on the trading floor?

Working with the trading floor teams, I've contributed to closing a significant number of trades over the past few years. Our business is growing and gaining recognition. We work hard…but we also play hard.

Was this a good career choice for you?

My experience prior to Scotiabank was not directly related to finance, but the Bank recognized the value of my skills. Scotia Capital's ability to see the value of diversity was an integral part of my decision to join the team. And that choice has proven to be a very good decision for me.
