Fees

There are fees associated with mutual fund investing which you should be aware of. The following are transaction fees that may incur when you purchase Scotia® Mutual Funds through Scotia Securities Inc.

Transaction Fees

There are no transaction fees to buy or switch between Scotia Mutual Funds.

Short-Term Trading Fee

  • A short-term trading fee of 2% of the amount you sell or switch may be charged if you sell or switch your units within 31 days of buying them.
  • This fee does not apply to cash equivalent funds.
  • The fee may be waived.

Withdrawals

Scotia RSP, LIRA or LRSP Accounts

  • There is a $50.00 fee for each eligible withdrawal you make from your Scotia registered savings account.
  • There is a $50.00 fee for each transfer you make from your Scotia registered savings account to a financial institution that is not a member of the Scotiabank Group of companies.
  • All transfers you make to companies within the Scotiabank Group are free.

Scotia RIF, LRIF or LIF Accounts

  • All regularly scheduled payments from your Scotia registered income account are free from bank fees.
  • One free cash withdrawal per year may be made from your Scotia registered income account.
  • Each additional cash withdrawal incurs a $50.00 fee.
  • There is a $50.00 fee for each transfer you make from your Scotia registered income account to a financial institution that is not a member of the Scotiabank Group of companies.
  • All transfers made to companies within the Scotiabank Group are free.
  • There is a $50.00 fee to close your Scotia registered income account.

Non-Registered Accounts

There are no fees associated with making a withdrawal from a non-registered Scotia Securities Inc. account.
