The Business Service Centre (BSC) is an important member of your Relationship Coverage Team. It is a Centre of highly skilled and knowledgeable employees dedicated to serving the day-to-day needs (excluding deposits, withdrawals, cash and coin) of Business Banking clients over the phone, and by fax and e-mail.

There are six Business Service Centres across Canada that service all business clients (with the exception of Small Business clients): Halifax, Montreal,
Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary
and Vancouver.

Business Authentication

Businesses are continually concerned about the ever increasing sophistication in the types of frauds that are being committed today. Many of these frauds begin with the theft of private information. Business Authentication allows us to provide additional protection and enables you to have further control over the type of information or transactions accessed by your employees.

Each Business Service Centre is equipped with a telephone system that uses Personal IDs and Passwords to securely identify you and those employees authorized to contact the Business Service Centre on behalf of your business. This verification process allows Business Service Centre representatives to ensure an authorized employee is accessing the correct business account information.

The telephone authentication system does not eliminate the legal requirement to obtain an Authorized Signing Authority signature to complete dollar transactions.

By completing the Employee Entitlements form [PDF: 347k] you can ensure that only authorized individuals have access to specified business account, loan, and activity information over the telephone. Your sensitive business information is securely protected.

BSC Cheque Certification Fax Request Form

The ever evolving business and regulatory environment requires companies to generally place stricter attention to process and the completion of financial documents and requests. As such we have modified the way we certify business cheques at Scotiabank. Our branches in conjunction with the Business Service Centres (BSCs) across Canada ensure every reasonable precaution is taken to protect your business and Scotiabank from fraud, cash loss and onerous investigations.

To assist us in protecting your business and to minimize the time spent at your branch, fax a completed copy of the 
BSC Cheque Certification Fax Request form to the BSC Cheque Certification Fax Hotline (1-888-431-4136). About an hour later, visit your local Scotiabank branch with the original cheque to quickly finalize the certification process.
