- Scotiabank was listed as one of the 50 Best Employers in Canada by the Globe and Mail's Report on Business magazine in 2008 for the fourth consecutive year.
- Scotiabank's Atlantic Customer Contact Centre (ACCC) was recognized by Service Quality Measurement (SQM) Group for achieving 'World Class' customer and employee satisfaction in 2007.
- Grupo Scotiabank Mexico was recognized in 2007 as one of the country’s 100 best companies to work, and the leading financial group, for the fourth consecutive year by Great Place to Work® Institute.
- In 2007, Scotiabank de Costa Rica, Scotiabank Trinidad & Tobago, and Scotiabank Turks & Caicos received the "Bank of the Year" award from The Banker magazine.
- Scotiabank women executive vice-presidents were named on the 2007 Top 100 Powerful Women in Canada list by the Women's Executive Network (WXN) for the fifth year in a row.

Top Customer and Employee Satisfaction. Scotiabank received this recognition in 2006 for the third consecutive year in a survey of the Canadian banking industry by the SQM Group.

Scotiabank Jamaica received the Top 10 Employer award in Jamaica by the Jamaica Federation of Employers in 2005 and 2006.
- Scotiabank's Toronto Contact Centre achieved Platinum Contact Centre Employer of Choice (CCEOC) Certificate from the CEOC Institute in 2006.

Deals of the Year for 2005: Scotia Capital received this recognition by Euromoney magazine as Lead Arranger on the project financing deal for the Cerro Verde copper mine in Peru.
- Employer Marketing of Choice Awards: Scotia Applause, the Bank’s employee recognition program, won the Employee/Internal Communications Program category at the first annual awards in March 2007.
