Executive Vice-President, Wealth Management, Canada

As Executive Vice-President, Wealth Management, Canada, Barb Mason is responsible for Scotiabank's Canadian wealth management franchise, which incorporates the following businesses: personal investment and advisory activities within the Bank’s domestic operations, full service brokerage, direct brokerage, mutual funds, asset management, personal & small business deposits and private client services.

Prior to her current appointment in May 2006, Barb was Executive Vice-President, Marketing, Sales & Service. She joined the Bank in 1982 and has held progressively senior roles in retail banking, credit cards, marketing, sales and service and has also been instrumental in the development of Scotiabank’s marketing platform and corporate brand.

Barb graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Environmental Studies (honours), and is also a graduate of the Queen's University Executive Program (1992). She is Vice-President of the Board of Toronto's Ronald McDonald House, and sits on a number of the Bank’s internal subsidiary boards.

Barb is married to Ian and has two children.
