Group Head, Canadian Banking
As Group Head, Canadian Banking, Chris Hodgson is responsible for Canadian personal and commercial banking, including branch banking, personal lending and wealth management. He was appointed to this position in October 2008.
He was named Executive Vice-President and Head of Domestic Personal Banking in March 2006, and previously served as Executive Vice-President, Wealth Management.
Chris rejoined Scotiabank early in 2003 as Senior Managing Director, Wealth Management, following several years with Altamira Investments. Prior to that time, Chris spent 16 years with ScotiaMcLeod, where his last position was Managing Director, Private Client Financial Services.
Chris received his Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College in 1977, and completed a Securities Industry Institute program through the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, in 1997.
He has been a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute since 1982. Chris serves on the Board of Governors for the Canadian Investor Protection Fund, and was a 2007 National Exposition Judge for Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship (ACE). He is a Chair of Providence Healthcare Foundation and a past Chair of the Providence Healthcare Board of Directors.
Chris and his wife Pam have three adult children.
