Luc Vanneste is Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer, responsible for the Finance Department, including Investor Relations, Taxation and Strategic Sourcing.

Luc joined Scotiabank in 1999 as Senior Vice-President and Chief Auditor and was appointed Executive Vice-President in October 2003 and Chief Financial Officer in 2005. Prior to joining the Bank, Luc spent 24 years with KPMG LLP, where he served most recently as a partner, focusing on banking and finance.

Luc has been active with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario since 1986, including serving as Chairman of the Board from 1994 to 1996. He is currently a member of the Centre for Stroke Recovery Advisory Board. In 2006 Luc joined the Board of the Toronto Rehab Foundation. Luc is Chair, Financial Affairs Committee of the Canadian Bankers Association.

Luc graduated from the University of Toronto in 1975 with a B.A. (Honours), and obtained a Masters of Business Administration (with distinction) from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario in 1999. He has been a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario since 1977 and was appointed a Fellow of the Institute in June 2006.

Luc is married with two adult children.
