View your Scotia GIC balance
- Sign in to Scotia OnLine® at: https://www.scotiaonline.scotiabank.com
- Select the "Investing" tab.
View Non-Registered GIC details
To view your Non-Registered GIC details such as Principal, Term, Interest Rate, Issue Date, Maturity Date, Renewal Instructions, Interest Payment Frequency and more, simply:
- Sign-on to Scotia OnLine and select the "Investing" tab.
- Under the "Accounts & Transfers" sub-tab, select "Account Details" from the left-hand navigation.
- From the drop-down menu, select your non-registered GIC account.
To purchase a new registered or non-registered Scotia GIC, simply:
- Sign in to Scotia OnLine, and select the "Investing" tab.
- Under the "Scotia Investments" sub-tab, select "Investment Purchase" from the left-hand navigation.
- Indicate the type of purchase you wish to make: For Non-Registered GICs, select "GIC" under "Non-Registered Savings" from the "New Account Purchase" drop-down menu and select "Submit".
For Registered GICs, you have 2 options:
- To open a new Scotia RSP account, select "GIC - RRSP" from the "New Account Purchase" drop-down menu and select "Submit".
- To contribute to your existing Scotia RSP GIC and Savings account plan, select your account number from the "Existing Account Purchase" drop-down menu and select "Submit".
Renew an existing Scotia GIC
To renew a Scotia GIC online or change previous renewal instructions:
- Sign in to Scotia OnLine, and select the "Investing" tab.
- Under the "Scotia Investments" sub-tab, select "GIC Renewal" from the left-hand navigation.
- Complete the GIC renewal information.

Please Note: Be sure to have your RSP account number (if applicable), and your GIC certificate number on hand, as you will need these to fill out the online form.
Re-price a Cashable GIC
This function is available for non-registered Cashable GICs as well as any Cashable GICs you have in a Registered Savings Plan.
- Sign in to Scotia OnLine, and select the "Investing" tab.
- Under the "Scotia Investments" sub-tab, select "Cashable GIC Re-Pricing" from the left-hand navigation bar.
- Complete the GIC Re-Pricing information.
