What can I do with Scotia OnLine® Financial Services?

From paying bills to investing in your RRSP, you'll find it all within the four sections of Scotia OnLine - Banking, Borrowing, Investing and Planning Tools. For more details...

How do I access my accounts through Scotia OnLine?

Make arrangements at your local branch to link your deposit and credit accounts to your ScotiaCard™. Your deposit accounts may include your Canadian dollar Scotiabank Current, Chequing and Savings accounts. Your credit accounts may include all your Scotiabank VISA* accounts and ScotiaLine® Personal Line of Credit accounts.

Once your accounts are linked to your ScotiaCard, you can activate your Scotia OnLine access over the Internet or by calling 1-800-4-SCOTIA (1-800-472-6842), or in Toronto (416) 701-7200 and speak to a customer service representative.

When can I use Scotia OnLine?

Scotia OnLine is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, except for brief intervals, when the system is taken off-line for maintenance. This is scheduled at times when it is least likely to interfere with your use of the service. When this happens, you can still pay bills and transfer funds, but you will not be able to check your account balances/histories, or add or delete payees from your personal bill payment Payee list.

What are the cut-off times and valid dates for transactions?

Bill Payments
The Bill Payment cut-off time is 8:30 pm. E.T., Monday to Friday excluding national holidays. Bills cannot be paid in real-time. Therefore, we recommend you pay your bills about 3 days before its due date since some companies take 2 to 3 days to process and post the payment to your account.

Bill payments made after 8:30 p.m. E.T., weekends, or on statutory holidays will be forwarded the next business day.

Funds Transfers
The cut-off time for all current dated Funds Transfers is midnight Eastern Time. Funds Transfers can be completed 6 days a week. Funds Transfers completed on Sundays and national holidays will be posted to your account as of the next valid business day.

Post-dating Bill Payments and Funds Transfers
You may post-date bill payments and funds transfers for up to one year in advance. So that your post-dated transactions are handled as requested, please make sure that there are sufficient funds in your account by 6 p.m. Eastern Time on the date the transaction is to be processed. Accounts with insufficient funds will not be honoured.

Business operating loan transfers
are not eligible for post-dating.

Is Internet Banking secure?

Scotia OnLine uses industry standard Internet Security methods that encrypt or "scramble" the information that passes between your personal computer and the bank's computers. However, you need to do your part. Use a Scotia OnLine supported browser and protect your personal information using safe computing practices.

Is Scotia OnLine available for my business accounts?

Scotia OnLine is available for business accounts as part of Electronic Banking for business.

Can I access my business line of credit accounts through Scotia OnLine?

Yes. Make arrangements at your local branch to link your business line of credit accounts to your ScotiaCard.

What are the Scotia OnLine service fees?

Great News! There are no extra fees to use Scotia OnLine. Regular account fees only apply.
