- What is ScotiaVerify™?
ScotiaVerify, Scotiabank’s new online security feature, provides an extra layer of security to further authenticate your identity when you sign on to Scotia OnLine© Financial Services.
This added security feature will further minimize the risk of potential unauthorized access to your personal and financial information.
- How does ScotiaVerify work?
When you enroll in ScotiaVerify, you will be asked to select five secret security questions from a drop down menu, and provide the corresponding answers. You will also have the option to register the computer that you use frequently to sign-on to Scotia OnLine.
When you sign-on we will check the computer you are using to access your online banking or brokerage services. ScotiaVerify remembers which computer you normally use, giving you additional protection against unauthorized access to your accounts.
If you sign-on from a computer that we do not recognize, we take the additional security step to verify your identity by asking you to provide the answer to one of your secret questions.
- Can I choose not to enrol in ScotiaVerify?
No, it is mandatory for Scotia OnLine customers to enroll in ScotiaVerify.
- Will my Scotia OnLine password or Access Code change?
No, your Scotia OnLine sign-on password and Access Code will stay the same.
- How do I enrol in ScotiaVerify?
Over the upcoming months, customers will be asked to enrol in ScotiaVerify. It’s a two-step process that takes only a few minutes to complete.
Step 1:
Choose 5 personal security questions and their corresponding unique answers.
Step 2:
Register up to ten personal computers so that our system will recognize that you will be signing on to Scotia OnLine from a valid location.
- What do you mean by ‘registered computer’?
