Executive Vice-President, Latin America
Anatol von Hahn is Executive Vice-President, Latin America. Based in Toronto, Anatol is responsible for Scotiabank’s Latin American operations, and oversees the Spanish-speaking countries in the Caribbean and Latin America.
Anatol joined Scotiabank in Toronto in 1984 and, over the years, has worked in various positions in both Domestic and International Banking. In 1987, he became Managing Director and Country Head for Singapore. He moved to Chile in 1990 as Special Advisor to the General Manager and Alternate Director of Banco Sud Americano (now Scotiabank Sud Americano), and went to Argentina in 1995 to oversee the Bank’s operations there. He arrived at Scotiabank Inverlat in Mexico in 2000, rising to his most recent role as President and CEO, Grupo Scotiabank, Mexico, in 2003.
Anatol has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University, and participated in the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University. While in Mexico, he sat on numerous boards, including Ronald McDonald – Mexico, Young President Organization (YPO) Mexico, and the Finance Committee of the ABC Hospital. He also was the Vice-Chairman of the Mexican Bankers Association from 2005 to 2007.
He is married and has two daughters.
